Salvation's Sacrifice
The mood atop Irlith Tower, the home of the Irindel Order, was especially somber. Hidden within a grey and breezeless pocket dimension outside of the world of El’Darin, it remained the only safe space left to the group. They had just endured the systematic murders of five colleagues in the past few months.

Powertrip
Soréla stood on a main promenade of the nobles quarter of the coastal capital city of Port Faeldan, its wide avenue paved with cobblestones, flanked with a variety of sumptuous shops, and dotted with well-heeled residents and their occasional entourages. Having newly arrived from Colchesse last night, she marveled at the deeply tan skin the native residents all carried. It lent a natural glow that she found aesthetically pleasing, and it contrasted starkly from the fair to light tan skin of the people from her native country of Relb. She felt slightly envious of the complexion she did not share. She herself received a few appraising glances from the local gentry, but she overheard no comment, and none broke stride nor conversation in response to encountering her. Seagulls intermittently called out in the distance.

The Trees Gift
It wasn’t out of the ordinary for me to explore the woods by myself. There were thousands of trees and lots to discover behind my house. It was just after dinner when I ran past my parents with my backpack and flashlight running towards the woods. “Please be careful, sweetie!” My mother hollered as the back porch screen door slammed. I had been doing this for as long as I can remember, indulging myself into the world’s creations, discovering the untouched, and making the unknown known. The woods were calm, musky, and damp. My favourite thing.

The Book
He breathed a sigh of relief. His breath escaping as white wisps of swirls in the cave lit only by the few torches thrown about the stone walls. His hands were covered in a cold sweat as he gripped the handle of his sword. The worn leather had long started to unwind, allowing for the cold of hard steal to come through. His hands shook and violently at that. The pain had long numbed into an uncomfortable ache. This quest had been a difficult one.

Dawn. Solstice. It was the prophesied day of the new beginning and the old ending. The humans had just tapped into their power, and many began levitating, teleporting, phasing through matter, and shifting densities. It was… quite chaotic, as their physical bodies had not yet caught up to their energetic bodies. Alas, I realize that when referencing the true definition of chaos, I, as a Nag Hami being, know that chaos is the very synchronization which would, if followed, adhered to, and respected, become the very utopia that the beings in this plane of existence lust after so desperately. Chaos is king, and it is the chaotic organization (not the organized chaos), which brings about destruction, decay, and devastation. Now, the energies had aligned and set one another up to reaffirm with themselves; one had slowed so the other could quicken. They would finally be at one, shortly, and this very atonement was the same as the supreme, ultimate wealth which we had so painstakingly revealed to them.

A Teenage Enchantress

Lilie's Edge
Her tail brushed against the edges of the lilies as she slowly plodded alongside the lake side. She looked over the calm water as the fish pecked at the water, slowly breaking the tension as bugs flew down for a drink. She breathed deeply and came to sit alongside the water, looking down at her reflection. A lily was sitting beside her. She looked over to it, and rubbed her furry face along the side of it, taking it’s fragrance and leaving her own as a trade.

Inertia
Author’s Note This story is based on a dream I did have while in a coma in 2019. On February 27, 2019, I had gone into the hospital because I was given Valsartan by a doctor not knowing I was allergic to the medication. It caused my organs to shut down and I started losing my eyesight. I was released on March 9, 2019, three days before my forty-first birthday. While in the dream, the people mentioned are actual people I know who helped me through my coma dream. Chapter 14 was actually written first a month after I was released from the hospital not knowing what it was about and just continued writing it off and on until my mother passed away on April 13, 2020. I would like to dedicate this story to her first. Second, I would like to thank Ian Michael Brannon for helping me choose a title for this. I had been trying to think of one for a long time and could not think of anything except for “My Coma”. Third, this story is also dedicated to the following people: Leah Weidman, Richard and Libby Drake, Chuckie Day, Sean James Cumberland, Tom Zosa, Ricardo Villafañe, David “D-Mac” MacNamee, Tyler Zoellner, Matthew Arter, Jen Romano, Hannah Corrine Proctor, Carmen Lisa Cisneros, Joshua Benjamin Jay, Cristy De La Garza, Valerie Jane Bertolina, Tracy Fox, Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero, Danny Pachay, Aaron Foley, Katie Layne Bishop, Ian Escovar, Robert Brown, Patrick Hoehn, Geoffrey Adam Brown, Bethany Yanak, William Cardona, and Lauren Rose Sanders. Without all of you, I wouldn’t have woken up that day or had survived that coma. You guys are all my heroes and I appreciate that even if I never got to tell you the full story of what I experienced. I also want to thank a few others for being there for me: Abby Schwartz-Dombrowski, Deb Ferguson, Brian Davis, Evie West, Mandy Lynn Blazjewski, Karen Lilianna Ogliastri, Vanessa Russell, Harley Wartooth, Angel Prusinowski, Stephanie Brady, Cristina Torres, Sarai Richardson, Jack and Carrie Watson, Melanie Fraiser, Mell Packard, Colby Scheff, and again Joshua Benjamin Jay for being the Archie to my Jughead (Riverdale version).

The Little Black Book
April in Buffalo, NY. Growing up, I've never once left out of New York to see a concert, go sightseeing, or any road trips. Although beautiful, it lacked life's more...valuable moments. The same friendly faces, same tourist destinations, the exciting gleams in stranger's eyes that come; how dull. I want excitement, not more-or-less small town dribble. Although, nothing bad has ever occurred to me other than breaking a bone and getting a gash on my hand as a teen, naught that would stick with me - truly - through years to come and feel like it just happened.
