Celestial objects and the phenomena that surrounds them. What lies above the earth forever out of reach. From moons, to stars, galaxies, and beyond.
Of The Stars
Of the Stars What’s in a name? Well, the answer to whether or not I was born beneath the right star sign. I am a very bull-headed Taurus. Most know that Taurus-born are stubborn, reliable, and immovable. That is pretty much me. I am the one that my family and friends can count on. When I want something, I will do what it takes to get it. I want things in my life a certain way and I won’t settle. I may not have the bank account to accommodate, but I rather enjoy the finer things in life. I work hard for everything I have and maybe I can go overboard sometimes. I would definitely consider myself a shopaholic. I am an artist being, I love all forms of art. Music and writing being at the top of this list. I cannot create music myself. Writing is where I thrive. I get to create new worlds and people. I do not like when things change fast. I can handle gradual change because then I can adapt. I don’t like to feel unsafe in any way. I guess you could say I am a bit paranoid. Since I am an Earth sign, I prefer natural fibers over synthetic fabrics. Life is good for me; when I feel I am surrounded by love, When I am cooking for others, when I am shopping and when I get to create with my own hands. Food. Taureans don’t eat to live, they live to eat. Food is massively important, and they enjoy cooking and hosting dinner parties but, even more, going out to quaff and scoff at any given opportunity. Natural-born food bloggers! The Bull’s affinity for wealth and resource management should not be overlooked when considering appropriate professions for this sign. Banking and accounting may be suitable and appealing, as well as roles as stockbrokers, treasurers, and economists. This am not so sure about for me. Yes, money is great, but I don’t manage it well. No one would want me to handle money. That requires math and I don’t see eye to eye with math. Ruled by Venus, the ultimate work environment for the sweet dependable Bull needs to be beautiful in a serene, earthy way. Taureans will also feel connected to their soul’s purpose if they can create beauty for others in many nourishing and inspiring forms. Comfort is very important in my life. I sit in my bed to write. It’s comfy and warm. Sitting on my bed allows me to relax and allow a story to flow. I would get into the relationship traits of a Taurus, but I don’t know if it fits. I know what I am looking for but my experience with dating is limited. None of my relationships have ever lasted long enough to judge. I am terrible, if I am dating someone and I don’t feel like it is going somewhere. I will end it right away. I don’t have time to waste on non-productive activities that require me to leave my house. This has been a small insight into the mind of a Taurus star sign. We are simple but complicated. We are stubborn but adaptable. If you can ever tame a bull you have accomplished a great feet. Just remember, you will have to continue to work at the relationship because bulls have bad tempers and when they decide, they will follow through. Having a Taurus around can be very rewarding. They will be there with a shoulder for you to cry on. They will be there for whatever you need. No one is more loyal or reliable than a Taurus-born.
What we don't know about the universe would easily eclipse what we do. It's not even a contest. The unknown is much more prevalent than the known. So, when I say that I do not believe in astrology, I probably mean that I don't understand how stars and planets being aligned on your day of birth would impact your personality. I was appropriately named "Thomas" as in the biblical precursor, "Doubting Thomas." So, when people say things like "typical Aries...you're such a Leo...I knew you were a Virgo..." and so on, I think, yeah, sure. A group called "Imperial Drag" has a great song called "Zodiac Sign" where the singer says, "I'm unoriginal, it's fine/I wanna know about your Zodiac Sign." Sorry, people, grouping people in these large swaths of personality traits based upon their birthdays seems too random. I believe in nature and nurture. We are born into our circumstances to those who bore us and we develop our personalities, our drives, our sense of humor, our proclivities and eventually find our way to whatever vocations, avocations, intellectual pursuits, kinks, etc from our lives hence. To this very point, my mother was prone to note that both her brother, a Vietnam Veteran and erstwhile ne'er do well, and Adolf Hitler, a notorious, evil, murderous dictator, were both born on April 20th. Their similarities? They both liked dogs.
Living Life Like a Pisces
March eighteenth a little guppy was born. Born on a Thursday morning. Known to be our most lucky day anytime of the year. A guppy ready to grow and experience everything the world was ready to give. A Pisces sun, Aries moon, and Taurus rising. A true jack of all trades if you will. To say that I possess only a few traits my star sign has to give, would be an understatement.
Maiden Queen of the Sky
Whether you chose to believe in them or not, astrological signs (and the personalities associated with them) have interested people for many years. No one knows the exact origin of the Zodiac signs but the modern Zodiac sign as we know it was thought to have been adopted by the ancient Greek from the Babylonians. This practice of astrology is not technically considered a science anymore but many still believe in it as if it were. There are 12 different signs, each different from the one before, and yet somehow they make up the whole of the human race. According to Greek legend the Myth of the Virgo Maiden is this, she was the daughter of Zeus and Themis and personified innocence, purity, and justice and was the last immortal to live on the earth. She ended up in the stars because she fled earth after becoming disgusted by human greed and brutality and there she remains today.
Written in the Stars
Born May 7th, 1986 would make me a 35-year-old TAURUS and according to the accumulated research I have gathered over the past 17 years, I would be considered Stubborn, Loyal, and Materialistic (we can unpack that later). In my lifetime, consulting the Zodiac facts has been sort of a guideline for me. This is how I can gauge if I will get along with the people I will be surrounded by and most of the time this info is accurate, however, there are many factors that go into a person’s sign. The Sun, Moon, and Rising are the top three of the personality descriptions.
The Patient Bull
The Patient Bull. The zodiac is a very intriguing and mystifying subject for me. To think that assigning specific personality traits that seem to carry significant parallels to individuals based off of staring into the starry sky and seeing constellations that may or may not actually exist beyond the human trait of pareidolia, a form of apophenia that we all have to varying degrees is one thing; but to examine ones’ own personality, traits, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses that align specifically to one’s birth sign is truly fascinating and if one is so inclined to examine that relationship then it has to be asked; how and why does this seem to fit?
Sensitive as a Cancer
I was once ashamed of my zodiac sign. Cancers had a reputation for being moody, sensitive, and frequent criers. I thought "No way that applies to me. I don't cry in public! I'm a tough cookie!"
Just a Capricorn?
Am I just a Capricorn? My sun sits at 19 degrees of the sea-goat sign in my 10th house. Capricorns are labeled as cold, money-hungry, win-at-all-costs creatures. That is a stereotype. Cappies are ambitious, and persistent in their goals and thrive in their achievements. We do want to make it to the top, but not all of us have that "cut-throat" mentality. Some of us make sure not to step on anyone while we make our way up the mountain.
Have you ever wondered what the stars hold within their tiny microscope balls of energy? I have always been fascinated with astrology, stars, zodiac signs, and how our entire solar system is a vast deep space of energy, power, and resources… and within the time space continuum is a secret, the secret to life. I strongly believe our planets, our stars, our solar system hold many deep secrets and many different forms of life that we as humans have yet to discover and probably…never will.
I've never given much thought to astrology or zodiac signs. I am who I am and I don't care who I am most compatible with or what moon is in my house. I didn't care what my daily horoscope said. I woke up in the morning, put on my pants one leg at a time, and started my day.
Hi, my name is Senna, and I’m addicted to Instagram Horoscopes.
I was casually scrolling through my Instagram feed like I do every day (okay fine, every hour), when I stumbled on a new post from @virgoteamm: “Virgo gets irritated if you try to force them to communicate. If they decide not to on a particular day, trust that it is for a good reason”.
You're not an Aquarius, I'm an Aquarius.
I am in possession of incontrovertible evidence regarding the Zodiac that definitively supports one of two possibilities. The first possibility is that star signs are more complex than most people understand, and must be viewed in a deeper context of ascendancy, the moon, Jupiter, etc. The second possibility is that star signs are total BS. I am currently weighing these possibilities.
