Rumour: Disney+ Day To Feature First Kenobi Trailer Along With These Star Wars Goodies

We Can't Wait

Attention all Star Wars fans and rejoice, for if a new rumour is to be believed, November 12 (now known as Disney Plus Day) is going to be the day we potentially, finally, get our first look at the upcoming Kenobi series. Yes, next Friday could see us getting our official first look at the wonderful Ewan McGregor's triumphant return to the galaxy far, far away. Not only that, but apparently there are other Star Wars related surprises in store.

The news was reported earlier today by Star Wars News Net, who state it is a "rumour" based on the fact "studios have been known to change these things up until the last minute", using the example of how J. J. Abrams couldn't make up his mind about which trailer to go with for Episode IX at Star Wars Celebration. When one considers this, it's really almost impossible to tell what will actually happen on the day, but we can dream right? The site also state they reached out to Lucasfilm for comment, but received no reply...so far.

Anyway, according to them, we are only just over one week away from the moment every Star Wars fan has been waiting for. They state they have been told the first teaser trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi will drop on Disney Plus Day, November 12. This new show, is easily one of, if not the most, anticipated show to date. No matter what you thought of the Prequel's, pretty much every fan agrees McGregor's role as Obi-Wan was borderline perfection. Since it was confirmed filming had wrapped a few months ago, there has been plenty of time to allow for a teaser to have been made and dropping it on a special day is exactly what we've come to expect from both Star Wars and Disney.

On top of the above, their source has apparently also revealed to them, other surprises are in store as well. Apparently we will see a "sizzle reel" for Andor. Last year saw the release of a clip, during the Disney Investor Day webcast, so one would have thought at least a trailer for this may have been included, but it appears now.

Behind-the-scenes sizzle reels for both The Book of Boba Fett and the next season of The Mandalorian are reportedly on the table too. This is an area were the information is likely to cause the most scepticism, though. A behind-the-scenes look at the Boba series makes perfect sense, when you consider we have not long had the trailer drop, but a look at The Mandalorian Season 3 seems a bit off, as it was confirmed filming for this only began a short while ago. If there is a BTS view of Din's return, it's likely not going to include much in terms of giveaway, but potentially focus more on set pieces and costumes, etc. We may even get a look at some of the characters we know to have returned to filming, such as Giancarlo Espositos's Moff Gideon and Pedro Pascal as the main man himself, Din Djarin.

The above is all they had to say regarding upcoming shows we know of, but they also state their source told them fans can "definitely" expect announcements for new Star Wars projects and even state they believe a new canon animated series could be announced on the day. No details were given as to why they believe this to be the case, but stated they had been told a full-ordered animated series will release in 2023. With recent rumours and talks of a Darth Maul orientated show floating around the web, could this be what they are referring too?

Another pleasant surprise (well for me anyway) comes in the form of an apparent teaser for The Bad Batch Season 2 being shown. The first season wasn't every fans cup of tea, however I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to seeing the rogue group of clone troopers future adventures.

As much as Star Wars News Net is considered a very reputable source, it is worth mentioning that any news like this must be taken with a pinch of salt, but with only 10 days to go, we don't have long to wait and see if they were true or not. If they were true, then November 12 is going to be a very interesting day for Star Wars fans indeed.

Until next time!
