Boba Fett! Boba Fett!

Yes that is right the Book of Boba Fett Trailer has finally dropped onto the internet today to the surprise and joy of many Star Wars fans alike. It is wonderful to see the return of the amazing bounty hunter as he goes to the planet Tatooine in what seems to be a hostile takeover of Jabba’s criminal empire.

Temuera Morrison is set to reprise the role of the great Bounty Hunter along with Ming Na Wen who will play Fennec Shand as the two go to conquer the criminal underworld of Tatooine. A fine duo of actors and it’s good to partially see the return of Tem as well, who to many has been Boba and Jango Fett since the time of the Prequels. His return means that a prominent prequel actor will once again get to be on screen for Star Wars fans to see.

The opening shot itself is of what is called a B'omarr monk, a brain in a jar carried by a spider body moving around the desert around Jabba's palace. They appeared in Return of the Jedi in the background when R2 and C-3PO enter the palace but now we see them in the for front.

We see Boba going all around Tatooine talking to Trandoshians who were Captains in Jabba’s criminal empire. We see him going around various towns fighting criminals, perhaps from the other crime families like Black Sun and the Pikes. We see massive cities on what is probably Tatooine, which may probably be expanded upon in this series, allowing the planet to have even more depth to it than just being the home of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, and of course Gamorian Guards who were of course Jabba’s personal thugs.

Also we might get a deeper insight into Jabba's palace seeing places that we may not have ever seen in Return of the Jedi. A fascinating look into one of the more iconic locations from the Star Wars Saga.

It is curious but a fun idea to see Boba and Fennec going around trying to pick up the remnants of Jabba’s Empire and trying to bring it under control, ruling through respect and not fear. Why Boba wants to do this is still to be explained, however that will most likely be something that will be explained later in the series.

The idea of Boba Fett returning to life is nothing new, this is something that goes back to Star Wars legends as far back as the Dark Empire comics when Boba Fett was said to have been spat out by the Sarlacc Pit. Of course in those days he went on to continue his time as a Bounty Hunter. This time however it appears that he has much bigger plans in mind for when he returns, to be a crime lord, and rule over the planet of Tatooine, filling the power left with the death of Jabba the Hutt. It could lead to a deep exploration of the criminal underworld and of course the planet of Tatooine, as we see various cities, locations and local rulers who have been in charge of the planet for what many assume for decades under Jabba’s rule.

The Book of Boba Fett is going to be a great chance to see Boba explored in a way that he has not in any other Star Wars story before. With the return of Temuera Morrison we’ll be seeing the Boba Fett of the Prequel Era and the Clone Wars. Hopefully it will build on the development we got in those shows, showing the relationship with his father, how he grew up during the War, and also perhaps his connection to the other Clones in the Galaxy Far Far Away. We can see various connections to both the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy while also setting the seeds to what is to come in the Sequel Trilogy as well given that this story will be taking place post Return of the Jedi.

Book of Boba Fett will be a wider part of the so-called Mandoverse, and hopefully play into the wider story that Mandalorian and its spin-off series are playing out. Hopefully it will be a fun time to see the seedy side of the Galaxy Far Far Away.
