You walk into the hyper—room and you are straightaway given a choice. A human surgeon or a robot surgeon or a robot assisted surgeon

Choose.

Think again. A robot can be dexterous, analytical and have hundreds of permutations and combinations to effect a solution. A robot wielding a scalpel on you. Well breathe easy. We are just asking you a question. It’s not real. But, the way tech is moving it’s all too plausible to imagine mass surgeries (simple ones to begin with) being conducted by a row of robots and humans applying to be cut open coz they are so precise and robotic!

No chance of human error?

But I’m sure there will always be that expert surgeon monitoring, guiding and in charge.

Robots to take over most mechanical jobs due to exponential advances in artificial intelligence is a given. It is a fact that will reach us much sooner. The cosmos made us not to do mechanical and repetitive jobs. These will be delegated to robots – by the Cosmos. We are designed to do higher level jobs that require creativity, higher intelligence and use of fine cognitive abilities that we possess.

But, what’s new is : The Coming of the Cyborg’s

The man- machine. Yes we have reached there.

The first small beginning. It always starts off that way and we will never realize how far we have gone.

A patent to input a lens into the eye ball that can correct vision disorders. That is the primary objective.

The fine print : This lens can zoom in and out of objects, record data and needs to be connected to a tablet or a computer.

The lens can be one more channel for data flow. Anything digital is a part of the internet of things and a channel for information to reach you. Information directly into your visual field.

Meet The Cyborg. Metal hands for power, speed legs, telescopic eyes, smart chip for a super brain, neural network intertwined thinking sensors, but still a human heart.

The cyborg will be connected to the world wide cloud. The info flows from North to South and from East to West and so he will know what exactly is happening to his brother cyborg in the other part of the world.

Internet OF Things

Shift from server farms to the cloud environment. The internet of everything – this immense network of connections across people, processes, data, and various devices in now engrained. No go back on this. You can create new communication channels, new devices and new apps.

But then, we are assemblers of nature. We create anything new from what already exists. Our ideas stand on prior ideas.

Accidental creations happen often. The benzene ring originated in a dream. Penicillin was inadvertent. The insertable heart pacemaker too is a discovery by chance.

We search for something and we discover something else. Like Columbus. Columbus had set out to discover Asia but discovered America instead. The duration of his expedition was far beyond what the crew had anticipated. By October 10 the crew had decided that protests were not working on Columbus and were almost on the verge of mutiny. Columbus promised that if they did not see land in two days, they would turn back. The next day land was discovered.

Car is a Computer.

There is the time when software geeks will be selling you cars. It’s happening...think APPLE. Cars that self drive, eject you in a split second to safety in the instance of a crash, fly away when you need to escape from this world, and do everything while you make love virtually...I mean really. Virtual is so real with haptic feel, it beats the thinnest condom by nanometers. Hmm. Virtual reality is real. Well. Don’t laugh. But in place of the driving wheel you might find a mouse.
