February 2019's Full Moon in Virgo comes just a day after the Sun's entrance into Pisces. This Full Moon, which will occur in February 2019 at 10:53 AM, at the very first degree of Virgo, will also coincide with Chiron's journey from Pisces to Aries. Read on to find out more.

What is a Full Moon?

A Full Moon occurs when the Moon opposes the Sun, representing the peak or climax of the lunar cycle. Since the two luminaries are in opposition to one another, full moons are known to highlight any opposing forces or polarities in your life, such as the balance between self and other, the balance between the masculine and feminine, and the balance between work and home. Throughout history, Full Moons were known to cause unexpected, climatic events and strange behavior, and often, they will awaken us to truths that were previously hidden beneath the surface.

Full Moons in general are also a good time to reflect on where you are in life and where you are headed. While the period between the New Moon and the Full Moon is a time for setting (and achieving) goals, the period between the Full Moon and the next New Moon is a time for letting go.

I suggest looking at the houses where Virgo and Pisces fall in your natal chart to see how this Full Moon will affect you personally. I also suggest looking back to any goals or intentions you set around the time of the New Moon in Aquarius on February 4th for they should be coming into fruition at this time.

Full Moon in Virgo

This Full Moon, just like the New Moon that happened right before it, is going to be an awesome one, accompanied by only positive aspects. Additionally, occurring at 00'42 degrees Virgo, this Full Moon is much like a new moon in that it promotes new beginnings and fresh starts. This Full Moon is both cleansing and rejuvenating, like being reborn.

With the Moon in Virgo opposite the Sun in Pisces, this Full Moon highlights the balance between fantasy and reality, the material world and the spiritual. Both signs represent service and can be looked at as two sides of the same coin. They both have associations with Christianity; Pisces being the fish, an early symbol for Jesus Christ, and Virgo representing the virgin is associated with the Virgin Mary. While Pisces is about serving God, or serving others through emotional connectivity, Virgo is about material acts of service, or serving humanity. While Pisces represent both our dreams and our spiritual values, Virgo is about the actions we can take in our everyday lives to make those dreams and values a reality.

Virgo, the virgin, is a mutable, earth sign, ruled by the planet Mercury. The virgin is a symbol of purity and grace. Often stereotyped as nitpicky and critical, Virgo seeks nothing less than perfection. It seeks perfect health, both body and mind, and also perfect work, perfect skills and perfect service.

The Full Moon's most notable aspect is the New Moon's trine to Mars at the third degree of Taurus, representing luck with slow and steady action and calm and patient emotional reactions. Some other aspects include Neptune's conjunction to Mercury at 15 to 16 degrees Pisces, giving us some divine inspiration, Venus's conjunction to Saturn at 16 to 18 degrees of Capricorn, giving us a practical and committed approach to our love lives, and the sextile between these two conjunctions. The balance between the practical and the magical present in these conjunctions (Mercury planet of logic sextile Venus planet of beauty, magical Neptune in it's home sign of Pisces sextile practical Saturn in it's home sign of Capricorn) mirrors the balance between the practical and magical inherent in the Full Moon itself.

As mentioned before, the Full Moon comes just a day after Chiron's entrance into the sign of Aries. Chiron, the wounded healer, has been in the sign of Pisces since April 2010, helping us heal our deep spiritual wounds, projecting many of us into a dark night of the soul and a subsequent spiritual awakening, healing us from any potential wounds we have surrounding religion and helping us clear up our karma and move forward. Chiron has now entered Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, where it will be until 2027, helping us heal ourselves. There may be a crisis of identity: Who are we really? We are not just human beings, we're spiritual ones.

Last month's Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo (and following New Moon in Aquarius) helped us answer that question, just a little bit. The Full Moon in Leo helped us discover our spiritual purpose, what unique gifts to offer to the world, what we will bring to the new age. The following years will help us go deeper into that self-discovery. The Full Moon in Virgo is a good starting place. The Full Moon in Virgo will help us to perfect those skills. It will help us to perfect those unique gifts we discovered last month and use them as a way to serve humanity. It's a good starting place to put those magical gifts into practice.
