Something that we species should not be doing

As you can from this very discouraging image it is a result of the Manhattan Project. The project that led to first act of American terrorism on foreign soil. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the victims of such a thing and since then the threat of nuclear devastation has hung over the heads of humanity.

While the Manhattan Project was a destructive concept, they are other destructive concepts that we humans must not touch.

Here are my thoughts

Unleashing Ghosts

This is the film that inspired me to write this very topic that you are now reading.

The character of Rowan North (Neil Casey) creates a machine that unleashes ghosts into the realm of the living (at least part of it because everything is happening in New York City). His plan fails of course thanks to the efforts of Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) and Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon).

While the ability to unleash ghost through a scientific means is possible, it should not be done, let alone even be researched.

When people die, don't you think they should be allowed to remain at peace? They would hate being among the living because would they not miss being alive and attack out of jealously? What's more, what if some of the ghosts that get unleashed are the kind of scum when they were alive like Reinhard Heydrich or Josef Stalin?

Time Travel

This one here is rather obvious now isn't it.

You've seen movies like the Back to the Future trilogy, the Terminator series, and Timecop, along with TV shows like Timeless, Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash. Then you must know what the negative effects are of such an endeavor and why I am making the argument.

In Timecop, you go back in time you risk running into the past version of yourself and if you were to make contact, you would disintegrate.

Spoiler Alert: At the end of season 2 of The Flash, Barry Allen goes back in time and prevents Eobard Thawne from killing his mother. Barry then detains Thawne, but the change in time starts to mess with his head at the beginning of season 3, so he resets the timeline.

Because of Barry's actions, Cisco Ramon's brother was killed in a car accident and more Metas were created through Dr. Alchemy and Savitar.

With Legends of Tomorrow there was an episode where Al Capone was not charged with Tax Evasion, was then able to become mayor of Chicago and had lifted Prohibition.

A more recent episode was when they went to 16th century England during Shakespeare's time, where Mick Rory and Nate Heywood made the mistake of showing off their talents, thus encouraging Shakespeare to write different versions of his classic pieces.

Cyborg Soldiers with Artificial Intelligence

Do I need to tell you about this form of technology based on the image above? Why do we need cyborg soldiers for war? better yet why have war at all?

Anyway, replacing live soldiers with cyborgs would still be an inconvenience for those who are able to enlist because why should people be denied yet another job that doesn't need a college degree?

The main issue is what if these cyborg soldiers develop self-awareness and realize that we humans are savages who are not willing to fight and die in their own conflicts? The cyborg soldiers would then see humanity as a threat to their preservation and begin to wipe us out.

Conclusion

There are probably more ideas that I have not listed here, but some of them like say raising the dead, would be a rather obvious thing that one should not do.

Science may have made many accomplishments such as space travel and better medicine, but like the Manhattan Project and Agent Orange, there are major faults in making weapons of mass destruction.

For all we know the recent Corona-virus could have been invented by some evil person(s) as a way of furthering the use of biological warfare while using humanity as it's guinea pigs.

Why isn't there any laws in the world that criminalize new ways to kill people rather than help people? or even like space travel to further expand our place in the universe?

Humanity is quite the puzzle isn't it?
