In 2008 George Lucas created the character of Ashoka Tano who was retconned into being the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker for the Animated Series Star Wars The Clone Wars. This character why it took a while eventually became a staple of Star Wars and the Star Wars universe for many fans to come. Together for five years fans watched as Anakin and Ashoka had many adventures together, battling the Sepratist, Sith, and others during the Clone Wars. In 2020 it was announced that Ashoka was going to get her own live action show featuring Rosario Dawson. It was a major piece of news that a Star Wars animated character would make the way to live action and get her own spin-off series as well. However many speculated, will Ashoka meet her now deceased answer? Now it seems that we may have that answer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that Hayden Christensen will be making an appearance in the Ashoka series reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker. It is unclear just what role he could play, be it flashbacks of a force ghost but the fact that he is returning to the role on the heels of Kenobi is such a boon to him and Prequel fans alike. We might see Anakin and Ahsoka reunite once again but this time in live action and with the original actor of Anakin Skywalker himself. This is something no one could expected to happen so many years ago.

Hayden has been with Anakin Skywalker since the Prequel Era. However many have criticized him for one reason or another, be it a fair critique or another unfair critique. Though to many of the Prequel era he is Anakin and he is Darth Vader. So it is good to see that he is about to perhaps get his fair due, returning to the role both in Kenobi and in Ashoka. It is good to see him return to the role after being maligned by critics for such a time. This is his chance perhap to show just what sort of acting chops he has, as well as fans who grew up with the Prequels finally have a chance to see one of there favorite actor return to the Galaxy Far Far Away.

Also, the idea of Anakin meeting his apprentice once again is also an enticing idea.

The idea of Ashoka and Anakin having a coming to terms with one another after Return of the Jedi is something many Star Wars fans have wanted to see. If Anakin were to return as a Force Ghost, then it would give a chance for the two to reconcile. After all, the last time Anakin and Ahsoka saw each other again, he was still Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. There is a drama there to be touched if that is the direction they want to take the series. It would be something many fans want to see. Especially in a post Endor period. Hopefully the Ashoka series will take this opportunity to show us this moment that man Star Wars fans have wanted to see for some time.

It’s an interesting time for the Star Wars fandom. So many Disney Plus shows on the way, a shared universe in the Mandoverse, with the Mandalorian and the Spin-Off shows. So many projects coming into the fray. With Anakin appearing in Ashoka this is just another wonderful addition to the Star Wars universe coming in this new era of Disney + shows. It seems like fandom is about to get well fed as we continue move forward with our favorite franchise set in that galaxy, far far away.
