Gemini season calls for caution and clarity.

It's Gemini season and you know what that means - chaos, calamity but most importantly cocktails!

This time of year usually means you are the focus and life of the party, and this year will be no different, but when attending events, take with you a sense of wariness, for the company you keep may not be who you think they are.

You're a social butterfly and thrive in the company of others so you may not notice a rat in the ranks at first. Keep an eye out for friends withdrawing themselves from party planning or being wishy-washy with their RSVPs. Don't let the chaos of celebrations distract you from the goings-on of your inner circle. Reach out to the quiet Aquarius with stressful work issues and the Scorpio struggling with self-image.

After the excitement and enthusiasm from your birthday event dies down, it may be a good idea to plan a short-term goal - a 30 day challenge or upping your PT sessions at the gym. Giving yourself a project will ground you after the inevitable come-down that comes with back-to-back celebrations. Bring along the Taurus who couldn't make it to your party and make sure you bring your listening ears, try not to talk too much about the party and make sure your Taurus friend knows you value her friendship.

Family drama will be minimised with a gentle reminder that communication is key and there isn't much that can't be solved with a cup of tea and the right biscuit. Make sure you call your elderly loved ones and when you fill them in on your work life and love life, make sure you ask about theirs too! Even if it means hearing the stories you've already heard 10 times before.

Work will die down for a few weeks but don't let this make you complacent. Use this down time to go over processes, audit your data and even clean up the spreadsheets you despise so much. Making your work space cleaner, more organised and more aesthetically pleasing will make it a much calmer and less stressful place once the busy rush returns mid June.

As any big life event can do, your birthday may leave you questioning your future, your love life and the bigger picture. Take some time to yourself, spend a day outside, drive outside your city and leave your phone on silent. Take this post-party period to breathe and re-evaluate what you value, what you want from the year ahead and who you want in it.

If you are single, make sure you are opening your mind up to possibilities outside of the constant swiping of dating apps. Look into groups and activities in your community that would leave you bonding with like-minded individuals. Find a volunteering group and help clean up trails in your closest national park or a free yoga class by the river. Take your co-worker up on their offer to line you up with their neighbour's son.

If you are happily shacked up, take this time to really remind yourself of what attracted you to your partner in the first place. Take stock of the inside jokes, the early honey-moon memories and the day-to-day things they do to make your life more enjoyable. Plan a date night or day trip just you and your significant other and spend some time really cherishing the bond you both have together.

By the end of Gemini season you will feel appreciated, celebrated and loved. You will have learned who will be by your side long term and who will merely be by your side for a photo. You will have a new understanding of where you are going and who is coming with you.
