1 - Infinity & The Philosopher's Stone

***

Excuse the arrangement of words in this article. In regards to the concept of "The Philosopher's Stone," one must understand that what words say is as important as how they communicate.

***

From the first article to this one, let me clarify that we have not yet begun the path. We just barely started talking about it without even beginning. To understand it more simply, let me introduce this analogy:

If the Philosopher's Stone is at the bottom of the ocean, we have not even dove into the water yet, we have just barely begun to talk about the things we need as we suit up in order to be ready.

The Path of the Philosopher's Stone is not a step-by-step procedure; even the most wise mystics and alchemists express this in their uniqueness of the matter. It is a path very similar to the subjective experience of alchemy and spirituality, but with the deep philosophical questions that we all ask.

In my first article about this subject, I covered the general view points of understanding this path, and even though they may be specific, they are also too broad. However, the concepts and ideas in this matter must be taking in consideration to have the insight to understand. I may provide all I can to articulate the path, but it is up to oneself to find it and follow it by one's own steps.

I believe the most crucial essence to understand is the concept of Infinity, for it is the starting point of everything that is, was and will be, as well as the ending point as well (In how we understand concepts.)

Infinity is the word that communicates the eternal, the cycle of energy that loops into itself beyond any type of comprehension. Whether you believe in fate, free will, time, God, soul, spirit or any type of label that makes us understand the spiritual, philosophical, metaphysical and even alchemical concepts, Infinity is the ultimate word that defines the source at its optimum, beyond any type of comprehension.

Why is the concept of Infinity so important?

Because it is what the Philosopher's Stone is made of.

It is also what we are, beyond what we understand.

However, the path of the Philosopher's Stone is not a build up, but a deconstruction of the unreal to reveal the real source within. It is a process of purification. This is a very close example to how it reflects to alchemy, and how alchemical procedures burn the unnatural away to rediscover consciously our essence. But we are not there yet, we are not even in the water.

The concept of Infinity is important to keep in mind because it transmutes our perception of Source; I mean "Source" as in the all-consciousness that can also be understood as "God." Regardless how I describe Source, you must understand it your own way, and it is key in this path because it is where we will be standing on as we walk the path.

Understanding the concepts your own unique way IS part of the process of the Philosopher's Stone.

Now, the concept that helps to develop this path as we walk is Balance. This word signifies Harmony, Symmetry, Flow and Grace (to assimilate it more closely to our understanding.) Balance is what we perceive to understand when we keep integrating the procedure of:

"As Above, So Below"

Let's digest balance with a more complete meaning. Let's imagine the common representation of balance with the idea of a scale, or the symbol of Libra. Balance is the efficiency of keeping both ends harmonized between each other, resting on the Infinite Source.

There is no other standing rock to balance than Infinite Source, because everything else coming from it is temporal. This is not a yoga or a meditation where one can stands on oneself, where you find the balance on oneself. Not really; the standing rock of balance may begin as oneself, but it goes deeper than oneself as the philosopher's stone is polished.

You can use yoga, meditation or any other practice on this path, and I'm sure it will help, in the regards to finding balance in oneself, but the Philosopher's Stone is not directly on oneself, it can only on the infinite source, because is about everything that was, is and will be.

The introduction of balance in this path is the understanding of duality in order to understand the whole. For instance, the perception of the mind understands "Temperature" by experiencing what is "Hot" and/or "Cold." And this relates to alchemy when we understand the yin and yang of the whole, only as a process of comprehension and integration. Meaning: the perception of the female and male, the give and take, within ourselves clarifies Balance in a deeper level.

I mentioned the book "The Kybalion" by Hermes Trismegistus because it provides the knowledge and wisdom of alchemy and the path of the Philosopher's Stone. Now that we introduce Balance, the principles mentioned in the book can provide more insight:

1) The Principle of Mentalism.

2) The Principle of Correspondence.

3) The Principle of Vibration.

4) The Principle of Polarity.

5) The Principle of Rhythm.

6) The Principle of Cause and Effect.

7) The Principle of Gender.

If you are familiar with the principles, then the comprehension of Balance in these principles are self-explanatory. Perhaps one more than the other in different ways, but still, Balance helps to understand them in a way for us to integrate them. I will elaborate more deeply about them later on.

Applying Balance with the principles helps us integrate the wisdom and knowledge in a conscious and subconscious level, being in tune with oneself and the Philosopher's Stone. This insight allows us to see the harmony of balance in grace, in flow, bringing forward the Virtues that awake within us and through us.

As we begin to integrate Balance in this path, the harmonious grace that the word implies will manifest itself naturally by being exactly who you are, in the purest form of oneself. And the more the Philosopher's Stone is polished, the more balance you will feel, know, think and be with the infinite source. The process includes the alchemy of purifying your conscious and subconscious mind, the harmonious balance of the four elements, and the complementary alignment of the integration of trinity, among other concepts.

Do not forget that the motto for the Philosopher's Stone is:

Know Thyself

And the question (that can be drive one mad) if balance is not applied is:

Why

In order not to complicate the matter further, due to the depth and complexity of concepts, I finish this article with the introduction of balance.

However, I want to refresh the concepts of the Philosopher's Stone for you to keep in mind what it is exactly that we are looking for.

The Philosopher's Stone transforms any metal into Gold.

The stone is also referred as: Enlightenment, or The Elixir of Life.

It is understood as: Perfection.

The Philosopher's Stone also symbolizes reaching Immortality.

If you are seeker in this path of the Philosopher's Stone, you must keep in mind that it is not something that you find, but something that finds you exactly when you are ready to receive it. That is why it is important to understand how polishing our stone does not rely on oneself only, but to the infinite source (or whatever words you wish to label it.)

I hope these slow steps about the path of the Philosopher's Stone helps you purify yourself in order for you to reach your greatest potential. I will continue to unfold little by little the concepts that present themselves as we together understand the meaning of The Philosopher's Stone.
