6 Unexplained Strange Phenomena Captured in the Sky

There are some things that can't be hidden anymore

Red clouds in Brazil

We live on a planet that is very beautiful and has many amazing natural phenomena, such as waterfalls, the sea, and even volcanoes. These phenomena are often understood by us. To a large extent, we understand the sea and we know why waterfalls make thunderous sounds. But some natural phenomena are difficult for us to explain, and sometimes when we look up at the sky, we see certain strange phenomena. The following are six kinds of sky phenomena captured by the camera that ordinary people can not explain.

1, Brazil's red clouds

For most people, there are many scary things in this world. For example, skeletons, beasts, nightmares, and vampires are probably the most frightening things. However, a red sky covered in blood may be scarier than all of these things put together. And that's what happened strangely in Brazil, in a video of a red cloud falling from the sky, with dark clouds trailing behind it, looking like a falling meteorite. After it appeared on the Internet in the form of a video, it triggered a lot of retweets and discussions, but many people think it is fake because this video has only one source. It seems that if such a magnificent image appeared, there should be many people who would record it with their cameras unless they appear for a very short time.

2. Red sprites

If you think red clouds are scary, what about the so-called red sprites? They don't appear in the sky under normal circumstances, but descend during thunderstorms, and therefore can make many people feel a more ominous feeling. They are massive discharges that occur above thunderstorm clouds or cumulonimbus clouds, producing a variety of visually shaped flashes in the night sky. They are usually triggered by positive lightning discharges between underground thunderstorm clouds and the ground. This phenomenon appears as a bright orange-red flash, often in clusters at altitudes of 50 to 90 km above the troposphere. The appearance of sprites in the sky has been reported as early as the 19th century. However, they were considered a myth by the scientific community. It took humans more than a century to even capture the first red sprite phenomenon on video, which was captured by scientists at the University of Minnesota in 1989, and then several times by other research teams. It is a cold plasma phenomenon that lacks the hot channel temperature of tropospheric lightning, so they are more similar to fluorescent light discharges than lightning discharges. Although scientists have made many efforts, too little is still known about it because they are too difficult to capture.

Red Moon

3, red moon

If someone asks you what color the moon is, you may say it is yellow or white, and sometimes it may also be gray or off-white. But if someone told you he was red, would you believe it? Sometimes it does appear red, and it has been captured by human cameras. There are two common explanations for the red moon. The first is that it occurs when the moon passes through a total lunar eclipse. The red hue you can see is actually due to the red edge of the Earth's shadow that reflects off the moon. The second is more mysterious and not usually accepted by the scientific community: In many cultures, a red moon is a symbol of evil. The Incas of South America believed that this red moon indicated that a jaguar had attacked and eaten the moon. The people of ancient Mesopotamia, on the other hand, believed that a lunar eclipse was considered a direct attack on the king.

4、Solar Pillar

The sun pillar is a very special natural phenomenon, it will present a vertical axis of light, a bright light source extending upward, in addition to the sun, but also can see other bright light from the sun around the vertical shine out. Some people believe that the sun pillar is evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial life. But it is a natural phenomenon, caused by ice crystals floating in the Earth's air. It is formed when sunlight is reflected off the surface of millions of falling ice crystals that are associated with thin, high clouds, such as cirrus clouds.

5. Wavy Rough Clouds

In North Dakota, the USA, a set of photos and videos were once taken showing the strange state of a large number of clouds tumbling in the sky, and it may also appear red when the sun appears after a thunderstorm. Undulating rough clouds are stunning to look at, relatively rare, and relatively unstudied. Most low clouds are flat at the bottom, but wavy rough clouds seem to have a distinct vertical structure underneath them, and sometimes their tumbling motion pattern can be shocking to many.

6、Strange flashes in the sky

In early 2020, in the village of Bertram, Ohio, Tim Walker and his daughter Caroline were taking the garbage to the end of the driveway when the camera in front of the house recorded a strange flash of light outside the house. The footage showed red, orange, and purple lights filling the sky in the distance as the car drove along the road in the foreground, but no sound appeared. This shocked them to no end. The family posted their findings, as well as the footage recorded by the camera, online, expecting someone to explain them. But because of the lack of direct footage of the sky, the phenomenon became a mystery.
