I am not Sigmund Freud. I am not even a psychologist. But have you ever wondered how the parenting you received could have affected your sex life? It’s mind-boggling to even think about how the parenting the Duke received affected his sex life.

He would never come in pussy! Leaving his lovers and wife somewhat unfulfilled and always wanting…

Bridgerton on Netflix is what everyone is watching right now. If you are not one of them, you are totally missing out!

It’s a Netflix period drama based on the romance novels by Julia Quinn set in the Regency era of England.

The series explores the themes of sex, romance, courtship, marriage, diversity, fatherhood, parenting, communication among others. It also explores the stories of various families particularly the Bridgertons and their attempts at finding love. It has various interesting characters. Some more outstanding than others.

The most outstanding is the Duke of Hastings played by Rege-Jean Page. He is a tall and handsome to the core man who has left women from all over the world drooling over him. Just go the comment sections of the various YouTube videos he features in and you will see even grandmothers confessing to their major attraction towards him. I even saw some marriage proposals from several women on his Instagram comments. I wonder what his DMs look like!

From 70k Instagram followers , he is at past M now. The power of an exceptionally done job!

The story

Rege- Jean Page plays the role of Simon Basset a young heir to the Hastings line that wants little to do with it! His father the duke was more obsessed with siring an heir over being a good husband to his wife or father to his son. This didn’t help that the duke’s so-called heir had speech impediments as a child which made his father loathe him to the extent of telling him on several occasions and showing him through actions that he was not worth his love, attention or any of his other affections. How cruel!

The father snubs his son, sending him to live away from him. The Duke didn’t even attempt to open the letters his poor son had sent him through the years updating him on his progress.

This rejection affects the poor boy tremendously leaving him to develop a huge resentment towards his father. On the latter’s death bed, the son makes a vow to him that he was never going to sire children and the Hastings line which he cared more about than loving his only child was going to end with him.

The things anger and bitterness make us do!

The son in life and after his father’s death lives a precarious life of wandering, pleasure and sex. He travels around the world, he gambles, he drinks, he seeks pleasure with women to fulfil his carnal needs all keeping well on his vow to never marry or sire an heir. He even makes the point of informing all mamas in his town that he never intends to marry.

But you never know what tomorrow holds as the handsome Duke meets his match in Daphne Bridgerton!

As it is courting season when the Duke returns to Hastings after his father’s death, all the women in town are fighting for his hand. Daphne Bridgerton who has been crowned the ‘diamond of the season’ is looking for a proposal from a man but the local grapevine written by a mysterious woman under the name Whistledown spreads information from time to time that sometimes hurts Daphne’s reputation in her bid to seek a husband.

Daphne gets to meet the Duke in a rather unpleasant encounter. As they kept meeting in different settings, one thing leads to another, and she and the Duke realise they have aligned objectives. They strike a deal to fake a romance attempting to keep all the young ladies away from the Duke with also the aim of drawing the attention of worthy suitors that would be interested in proposing to Daphne.

The fake romance works against them as they end up falling in love with the Duke failing several times at fighting his feelings for the woman.

He ends up kissing her and being caught red-handed by her brother which leads to Daphne making him marry her as that’s the expected result of ‘tampering' with a young lady based on their customs.

The sex life

They do get married which isn’t as joyous a day for a lady who just became a Duchess and the two spend their wedding night in an inn and that is where this story should have begun.

Turns out the Duke had booked two rooms. But (in his own words) his ‘burning’ for Daphne does not allow him to follow through sleeping in separate rooms. He goes into her room and they end up consummating their marriage. It is fire, lightning, thunder, fireworks, rainbows and butterflies for the viewer!

As we would expect for a man who does not want to sire a child, he pulls out. And he pulls out every single time that they have sex. Poor Daphne who has poor sex education and does not understand what is going on. She thinks her husband hurts when he is ejaculating.

It does good for the scenes though when the hot to the core guy gets overwhelmed by the pleasure of cumming on-screen. You feel it with him. You want to be there with him! And the camera does the splendid job of showing him suffering in his pleasures. Rege- Jean’s back is something else! I prefer it to his chest or ass even. His strong shoulders are also something, but it’s nothing compared to the Michelangelo masterpiece that is his chiselled back.

It’s as though they picked the shots of his back right from the Louvre. A rare and highly prized 19th-century painting.

The frustrations

The Duke’s sexiness aside, it leaves me frustrated though when I see poor Daphne feeling confused and somewhat unfulfilled when her husband pulls out at the end of every lovemaking session.

And he does pull out a lot during their honeymoon: In bed, in the study, in the rain, out in the fields… He works really hard to ensure he does not get to sire a child. Until his wife gets fed up by the bullshit and takes matters into her own hands! She gets on top of him and rides him one night and overwhelmed by the intensity of it, he ejaculates inside her.

I have read some opinions that imply that she raped her husband by forcing her hand in the choice as to where he would ejaculate. I disagree since all this time, he had also been deceiving her by manipulating her ignorance on the subject of baby-making.

I do understand though that verbal communication should have been the better way of solving the matter. And we also certainly can’t judge her by today’s standards and understanding of consent. She sure connived her way into it, but he is also not blameless on the matter.

The withdrawal method

I personally do not like the withdrawal method. As matter of fact, I loathe it. I first came across it in passing during sex education in high school. Other than just a point to know that could add me extra marks in an exam, I didn’t pay much attention to it.

I then heard about it as an adult as the birth control method in which the Catholic Church was advising its faithful to use in their marriages. Here it caught my attention.

What business does a man who supposedly sleeps alone with a rosary on his hand, pictures and sculptures of virgin mother Mary adorning his walls have in telling men that sleep next to fine ass every night on what they should or shouldn’t do in their marital beds?

I dismissed it as bullshit right there and then!

In the same spirit, let's go ask Instagram models and influencers for advice on sustainability, nuclear energy, space explorations and food security!

Any man that would take sex advice from a priest who is supposed to know nothing about sex in its practical sense would be the biggest fool. And that is another reason I dismissed the withdrawal method. How can you tell someone to pull out of pussy at its pinnacle of sweetness? And why would anyone take such advice from a person who is supposed to know nothing about the intensity of the moment?

The Climax

Even though I imagine it must be the sweetest thing ever, I do not know what it feels like to ejaculate when you're a man. I might even have to ask a few of my male friends so that I may be able to have an understanding of it.

The very last stroke of a sexual act is the most intense for me. It is the cherry on the cake. It’s like climbing a mountain for days and finally reaching its peak. It is like drenching that very last drop of a nice cold drink on a hot sunny day.

I love it when a man reaches his climax in me. I love how weak and fragile he gets. How all that strength and power that he used to give me good strokes gets turned into a sweet weakness. I relish that strength in that last stroke before I finish him and then he falls on me momentarily then gets that head rush from all the pleasure. It’s as though he is giving you that power when he surrenders to you in weakness and lets your body hold him in his delicateness. I love to bathe in that power. I love to soak in it. I love to take it and make it my own.

I love how the last stroke gets harder, sturdier, heavier and stronger. I love how with little or no control of the man it goes deeper and gets more potent and intense.

As a woman, I find it very frustrating when a man ejaculates anywhere outside my vagina after a lovemaking season. I feel cheated. I might even attempt to grab him to prevent it from happening. We spend our bodies, our vulnerabilities, our time and energies pleasuring each other only for him to abandon me at the very last stroke?

I would not be in a happy, fulfilling sexual relationship with a man who uses the pull-out method as his primary birth control method. I understand it works, but I pass. It’s not the one for me.

The strong game

Since Daphne does not conceive from all their lovemaking during their honeymoon, we can conclude that the Duke of Hastings' pull out game is super strong!

Rege- Jene Page also does a splendid job of portraying how it overpowers him when he has to cum. His acting of the pull-out game is super strong! From a viewer’s perspective, it is pleasurable to see. Extremely arousing. As a woman, you get pregnant just by watching him ejaculate.

Lucky is the woman who gets to witness that intensity and sweetness in real life. Though I know she would hold him and all his god body closer so that she can bathe in his glorious climaxes.

Oh! His sexy back, his strong arms and his broad shoulders. His muscular thighs, his beautiful neck, his sexy lips, his radiant smile and his caramel skin. You want it all! All of it! The camera takes the most perfect shots of them.

When he climaxes, you want to bathe in his glorious milk. You want it splashed on you like a fountain and then smeared all over your body by his tender arms like lotion. The Duke seems to beautifully struggle to release making you pity, love and want him badly all at the same time.

The creatives at Shondaland had many objectives. One of them clearly was to cause us miserable and terrible sufferings desiring a man we could never have!

The celebration

Despite the frustrations the couple face and the viewers when following the story, the celebration is when he finally blesses his beautiful bride with his gracious juices in their last sexual act of the season. And that way he allows himself and her to communion and to reach their pinnacles together.

They also sire a child and that’s the jewel on the crown of the crest of their lovemaking.

And just like a Disney movie, it’s a happy ending!

I can’t wait for season two. But if the Duke of Hastings has to pull out again, it better be for the camera shots.
