The Office Affair

Sleeping with co-workers can get messy. Very messy! This is a story about how 2 people started an office affair, and this is only the beginning....

They worked in a congested office setting. The 2 had known each other for years before working under the same roof. They had spoken in passing but never a real conversation on what life was like for them after high school and college. Neither one of them knew what was going on in the others daily life outside of work.

Allow me to introduce the characters in this story. Stephanie Jones. She was quiet but outgoing when needed. She wanted to do good at her job, so she worked hard and stayed on top of everything that was changing. She was only an agent at the time of this office love affair. Desmond Wood. He was quite but charming to say the least. Had the perfect smile that made you wonder if he was up to something or just always that happy. He had been there long enough to make manger and just so happened to be the second manger on the same team that Stephanie worked on.

One afternoon, Desmond informed the team that they would have a round table meeting that afternoon and that he would choose the 5 agents that he needed to join the meeting. It was just a meeting so that they could all let the mangers know what issues they were having on calls and if they had come up with ways to solve them. Stephanie didn't expect to get called into this meeting given that she has normally gone home when they hold them on the evening shift. This week, she had picked up extra hours to be able to have some weekend time off. Hours went by and Desmond started walking around letting others know they were chosen for the meeting. Stephanie felt his hand touch her shoulder and she knew that she too would be a part of this meeting.

Everyone walked into the back-break room since it was the largest one and could hold them all at the few tables that were in place. The meeting was about 30 minutes long and they were all able to share thoughts on what they could change or issues they have noticed during the normal day. After everyone was able to express the thoughts of the moment, they started to head back to the work area on the floor. Stephanie was asked to stay behind for a few moments to write up a list of things that needed to be presented to the client. If only she knew that the actual reason was for a moment alone with Desmond.

Once the room cleared, he looked at her with his charming smile and said, "Thank you for your input today on the call. It was very informational."

She looked at him with a shy look and says, "You are more than welcome. I will offer my services anytime."

He smiled at her and said, "They will be welcomed as well." At that moment, they both knew that they wanted more from each other. However, he was management and it was against company policy to date outside of your ranking. Basically, you couldn't date someone that you were technically over, or they reported to you. He had her phone number because she was his agent and they had to keep reports and contact numbers on everyone they had.

Later that night, Desmond decided that he was going to put her number to use for something outside of work. They had been giving each other looks for weeks on end and with them being at work and in such a close setting, the exchange of feelings was hard to come by. He called Stephanie up and she answered the call with a sultry voice. She wanted to let him know from the start of the call what her intentions were.
