Gen had just poured a glass of wine and was going to show her friend Vic a screenshot of Matt when she saw an alert that someone new had liked her.

She opened the app and saw Duncan. She liked that he wore glasses--she matched with him immediately. Gen adored a man that wore glasses and was holding a book.

What are you reading? She texted him since there were several of his profile pictures that showed him near stacks of books. Gen liked that better than guys who were always posing in a gym or far-flung places doing extreme sports.

A few things, The Myth of Sisyphus on the train ride home, he texted. What are you reading?

Not reading as much as I used to sadly.

Well, what did you used to read?

Everything, absolutely everything.

Reading is sexy.

Yeah…thinking of you reading is sexy…

I’m trying to be a good boy and you are very sexy which makes it hard…

Gen swirled the wine in her glass and admired the garnet color of it against her garnet ring. She took a sip and walked to her bedroom mirror. Did she know she was sexy? She was not sure but she liked that he thought she knew she was sexy!

So she decided to play the role.

And you know that you are sexy with those glasses… she texted him in front of the mirror.

Girls make passes at guys in hot glasses.

You’re giving me commands already?

She heard a beep — a dialogue box filled her screen telling her Duncan wanted to video chat with her.

Gen clicked on the camera roll icon and then they were looking at each other.

“You look even better live,” he grinned.

“You are making me feel like one of those live shows on 42nd Street from back in the day!”

“You’re very sexy, but I did not say that. You are making it hard for me to be a gentleman.”

“I never asked you to be a gentleman.”

His eyes widened and she smiled,

“I don’t like to have to be like anything and I don’t like anyone else to think they have to be like anything.”

“You’re so sexy.”

Being called sexy all night was starting to go to her head.

“You’re sexy too.”

“What are we going to do about it? I’ve seen you, now I want to meet you.”

“Not tonight,” she shook her head and he shifted in his seat.

“Ever?”

She nodded, Gen could not say that she did not want to see Duncan in person if she felt this hot from just texting and video chatting with him.

“Good. Can I see more of you?”

“I’ll show you if you show me…”

“What do you want to see?”

"Take off your glasses," she decided to aim higher than he was expecting but she was pretty sure she could have aimed lower.

He took them off and placed the tips in his mouth. Gen hoped her gasp was inaudible, his eyes penetrated so deeply. Licking her lips, she asked,

“What do you want to see?”

“You in person — when?”

Gen covered her face with her hands, one eye between her fingers and smiled at him as she thought of a response.
