The Blue Country House by Dominic Davison, similar to the house Evelyn lives in

After dreaming of the well with her aunts in front of it, closer and closer to the well, Evelyn woke up with an urge to go to it. She left Tom a post-it note on her pillow that said, "At the well."

When he first woke up and found her gone and didn't hear her in the bathroom or in the kitchen, he finally saw the note slip down the pillow and read it.

He breathed a sigh of relief, then changed into his jeans, socks, boots and jacket and went to meet her.

On his way, he thought about what she'd told him about the well, that she and her aunts called it the Well of Change because she only ever went to it when where was change in her life.

For some reason, he thought of how often they'd been making love and wondered if there was a connection, but then just shrugged it off as he noticed her sitting on the wall of the well.

He saw the need of him in her eyes as he approached.

He got up on the wall, then wrapped on arm around her and kissed her lips. He looked at her with curiosity and concern in his eyes.

"It's to do with you, I know that much."

She leaned on him and he put his other arm around her, linking his fingers. He gave her a look that said, "I'm not going anywhere." She smiled at him and snuggled closer.

Katherine had already been to visit and gone back, having only a week to spare. Since Tom had moved into Evelyn's room, Katherine stayed in his old room and had her office in the attic since Tom had split his office between the actual office and the recording studio.

Evelyn had her office in the basement, in a small section of the main room that also contained the library. The laundry room was just off of that. Evelyn's favorite break area was in the big reading chair in front of the fireplace in that library. Her office consisted of a writing desk, a computer desk and a printer that was on top of a dresser that contained all her knitting. When she wasn't in the reading chair, Tom inevitably would be.

She eventually added a plush blanket to the reading chair after Katherine fell asleep in it the first night she was there. Katherine liked it so much that Evelyn bought her another for her bed.

In fact, just after Katherine left, Evelyn went and bought different furniture items for her attic office. She bought her white shelves for her designing equipment. She bought her a tiny red desk with some drawers that was gilt in gold. It went with the chest she'd brought with her while she was there. Since Katherine had had to borrow Evelyn's umbrella on rainy days, she bought her a red one since it was her favorite color. Katherine even returned with a red scarf Evelyn had knitted for her.

The attic led down to the floor with the master bedroom with an office across from it and a bathroom that opened to the master bedroom as well as the hallway since the office had been intended as a bedroom.

That floor then led down to the floor with Katherine's bedroom.

That floor then led down to the main floor. It started with the front door and main hall with a built-in coat closet to the right as one entered. To the left of the main hall was the kitchen that was fully equipped with a breakfast bar as well. In the back corner of hte house behind the kitchen was the dining room that was done in cream with a brown dining table that fit six people.

Ie onf went to the right of the main hall, one foudn the living room with couch, coffee table and chair that faced out of the window. There was also a TV. Next to that room was the guest bathroom that had only a sink, toilet and a trash bin. After that, in the opposite back corner to the dining room was the mess area. It was tiled and had a welcome mat and a bench and coat rack. The back door led to a mini-porch outside.

The front porch ran the front and right side as one faced the house. Next to that was the two-car garage with the door to that off of the kitchen and opposite the door to the basement.

The next day, Evelyn was trying impress Tom by shaving everything she could. As she lifted her leg up to put her foot on the sink, she got dizzy. She tried putting it on the edge of the oilet and still didn't feel well.

She decided to sit leaning against the cabinet under the sink until Tom came back from checking what was in the shed out front. She hadn't bothered to check that thing since her aunts had died.

Sme smiled when she saw him. Well, she tried to. She was so pale and sweating that she was relieved to have him liefting her and taking her to the bed. He got out the fan and turned it on, directly facing her. She felt like she fainted asleep.

She woke up as the sun was setting. She was hit with the sudden urge to vomit and ran to the bathroom, barely getting the toilet open before vomiting food she didn't even remember having had as she tasted it coming up.

Tom was standing in the bathroom doorway with his arms crossed and one eyebrow arched at her. She couldn't figure out why.

"Are you pregnant?"

Evelyn just looked shocked. It hadn't occurred to her.

Tom put his arm around her.

"I didn't know you were that fertile," he said, then laughed.

"You did this to me."

He laughed.

After she managed down water and soup, they spent the rest of the night celebrating.

Tom hesitated to get on top of her, so they got on their sides and he entered her from behind. Evelyn participated, matching his speed. He fell asleep inside her.

As soon as he woke up, his flexing inside her woke her up. She came soon after causing him to come then her to come because of that.

At breakfast, she kept giggling and blushing at him and he would intermittently kiss her lips and her belly.

"Have you told Katherine?"

"I'll text her now."

A few hours later, they were on the front porch again. Tom got an alert on his phone and laughed when he saw what it was.

"What?"

"She texted back, 'Men should have an expiration date too.'"

Evelyn laughed.
