He was pulled to his feet, the car moving all around him. “Three, move your feet!” He had no idea what was going on or who was dragging him through the train car but the man was wearing a black ski mask and fighting off all the other passengers.

Three reached up to his head and felt wet cloth. Realizing he had a mask on as well, he went to take it off when the man dragging him grabbed his hand. “Keep your mask on Three! We are almost there!”.

The car continued to spin as he was pulled through it. People all around him were hitting them with bags and umbrellas or throwing water bottles and beer cans at them.

Gunshots rang through his ears, causing a splitting headache and a high pitched sound to drown out what was being said around him. The passengers shrunk into their seats or to the ground as soon as they heard the shots.

Another man in a black ski mask approached him holding a Glock 19. Three’s eyes widened and he tried to squirm away from the man carrying him.

“What’s wrong with Three?” Asked the man holding the gun.

The man dragging Three pulled him in. “He hit his head on the seat when the train swerved. Still a little out of it. What is One doing up there?”

Three looked around the train at the passengers. Most of them looked away when his eyes met theirs but some gave him death stares. He didn’t understand what why.

“Three, can you continue?” The man with the Glock asked him.

“He’s fine. Just give him a minute. Everything is a go.” The man who pulled him up responded for him.”

“You better be right 5 or we’re all dead.”

“Shut up and get back into position 4.”

The two men bickered back and forth as they moved through the train cars. As they mentioned numbers, a woman appeared in Three’s head. She was not on a train in his memory but at a fancy dinner table. Wearing a long black dress that shined in the right light. Long blonde hair that flowed down her shoulders and went beautifully with her emerald green eyes.

“Where is 6!” 5 started screaming. 3 was back in the moment and saw the conductor's cabin open. Another man in a black ski mask looked back at him. A tall skinny man, with a look so terrified you could see it through his mask.

“6 went to look for 2 when he noticed everyone was out of position.” One said.

The train swerved again, throwing the four of them around the car. At this point, 3 noticed the control panel was full of holes.

“Let me get this straight, 6 left and you decided it would be in everyone's best interest if you shot out the control panel for the train YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CONTROLLING!” 4 had started to lose his cool.

“The passengers started fighting back and you said 6 would be here to take care of it if the situation arose. Well it did and he wasn’t here!” 1 had clearly started to panic.

5 grabbed the gun from 4. “OK, let’s take a breather here and figure out what our next move is.”

They all looked at 3. “Well, what was the back up plan?” 1 asked.

Still having no clue what he was doing with these men, 3 looked around to try and figure out what to say. He thought about just fainting, thinking if they helped him the first time maybe they would keep him safe now too.

“1, why are you driving like you just got your license?” 6 had returned and he wasn’t alone.

The four men turned to see him walking up with a MAC-10 in hand and a dainty little thing next to him. It was the women from 3’s vision. Only this time she was dressed in a dark blue pants suit and carrying a silver briefcase.

“Are we ready to go boy’s or do you want to keep arguing over who has the bigger gun?”

She was not afraid of the situation and had just shown that she could handle herself. 3 stood there, his head starting to feel better and his memory coming back to him now.

“What happened to 3?” the woman asked.

“Hit his head when the train swerved” 4 responded.

“Which time? 1 has been driving like a four year old.”

1 threw his hands in the air in protest and then pointed them at the controls.

6 smacked his forehead in disbelief. “Why am I not surprised?”

“We need to make sure 2 gets off safely with the briefcase. What was the emergency plan?”

Everyone looked at 6 all thinking the same thing. “What emergency plan?”

A loud bang sounded in the next car. The passengers had realized that all the hijackers had moved to one car and started coming through the train door. One threw a hydro flask and cracked a window. Another had ripped a handrail off the train and started using it as a spear.

4 and 6 held up their guns and pointed them at the passengers.

2 screamed. “Shoot out the window.” The two opened fire. Passengers dropping down thinking the shots were intended for them. 5 walked over and kicked out the remains of the window. They were going fast but if they timed it right they could roll away to safety.

5 poked his head through the window and back into the train. The passenger with the hand rail swung at him as he came back. 5 ducked, the rail clanged against the wall on the train and bounced back hitting another passenger.

Grabbing the rail, 5 ripped it from the passengers hands and he fled back to the rest of the mob.

“You were lucky that it wasn't private security.” 2 said.

5 smiled and handed the rail to 3. As soon as he took it, another memory popped in his head. Now he was wearing a black suit and walking with the same people he was on the train with. A new piece of technology was being shown to him on a tablet as they entered a meeting room. The next slide had pictures of men that it said would protect the technology and then 2 grabbed the tablet right before the memory ended.

Looking down the train, 3 could see one of the men from his vision barreling towards them.

“We have to jump!” 3 screamed. He looked out of the window at the terrain. “We wait until we get to that patch of grass up ahead. Can’t risk the tech getting ruined in the water below. Once we are over the bridge, we jump and roll.”

They all looked at him like he was crazy and then all smiled. Except for 1. He was grabbed by 6. “Don’t worry 1. I will help you off.”

The man from 3’s vision was getting closer and they could all see he was carrying an MP-5 with him.

The train crossed the bridge and 6 threw 1 out the window. “Don’t forget to roll!” 5 jumped next, then 4. 6 waited for 2 and 3.

2 turned to 3 “Don’t try to be a hero. You know what’s going to happen.”

3 had no idea what was going to happen but he nodded like he understood. Shots rang out as 6 was covering them from the man with the MP-5. 2 turned and dove out the window. 6 waved 3 on but he was too scared to move. He thought maybe if he just waited here the man with the MP-5 might not kill him and he could figure out what exactly was going on.

The train swerved again and 3 fell smacking his head on the floor. 2 was now in his mind, they were lying on the beach, watching the waves crash as the sun set. “I never want this to end.” she said as she leaned in towards him.

A bullet ricocheting close to him brought 3 back from his vision. He looked up to see 6 about to fall out the window. Still trying to give him the time to get up and off the train but again it swerved and 6 fell out. Everything fell silent as the passengers turned towards the man with the MP-5.

3 knew if he was going to get off now was his chance. He waited until he was not in the man’s line of sight and then he made a run for it. A passenger screamed and pointed towards him. As he jumped, 3 heard shots fired.

While flying through the window he wondered, would I make it out of here alive? Did the shots hit me? Can I survive the fall?

But then all he could think of was 2. Her beautiful smile, long hair flowing in the wind. That snarky sense of humor she had.

He hit the ground and rolled for what seemed like days. Luckily, there was nothing in his path. He had landed in an open field for cows to graze. When he stopped rolling, he was lying on his back looking up at the stars.

His head still hurt but everything else seemed to be ok. Just a few bumps and bruises here and there. The others had jumped well before him so he knew they were a ways off. He got up and wondered if he had made the right decision. “I could always follow the tracks toward the train. Find out what I just did.”

An explosion shook the ground beneath him. 3 turned to see a giant fireball light up the sky coming from the direction the train had gone.

“So that’s what she meant by 'don't be a hero.” Smiling, he could only think that this was not so bad since he was still alive.

He turned around and started walking back the way he came. To meet up with the others who had saved his life and to try and figure out who he was.
