Twilight of Ares - Episode Three

The domes of Hadfield station, humanity's tenth wonder, reflected the Armageddon above. Gunnarsson’s adrenaline-fueled brain calculated four clicks to the nearest access point.

“-ck it…anyone alive out there?”

“Gunnarsson here, Chalk Four is down.”

“Shit, someone survived that?”

“Yessir. Don’t we have some liberating to do?”

“Aye, we’ll circle to you. Chalk Two over.”

“Copy.”

Gunnarsson leaned against the wreck and stared into the void. It would be beautiful if it weren't on fire.

He saw it pop its head above the lip crater above.

Inhaling, Gunnarsson zeroed in on the grotesque barked skin of the closest Gray.

For Rodriguez.
