Story ( Tode In A Hole)

"In the depth of winter,

I finally learned that there was an, " invincible summer riffed in me."

It was 19thJan 1980 at Old Birmingham, East lake. The foggy and misty cold spell of winter making everyone hear their heartthrob. Frost killed all the flowers and vegetables. Nature became naked.

Autumn faded away by the touch of winter.

Little Tommy sat with his loving Grandpa Arthur beside an old frozen pond. Every year, It freezes itself with natural charisma. Little Tommy wonders where the cute tiny ducklings like him reside in this whole winter. In this little span of life, he tried his best to find the ducklings in every winter, but he always remains unsuccessful.

Frozen little pond shines like a diamond when sunlight reflects on it, Somehow it reminds him, his sweet little grandson Tommy. He is just like this frozen pond, the Redbud, the Sunflower. He needs sunlight to grow, sunshine to shine. In this

"Where did this lad go ?" asked Arthur himself.

-"Grandpa, I'm here!" answered Tommy with Joy.

He is walking in the frozen pond with his little brown boots. He wore a vintage old British vest coat with a British hat. Grandpa helped him in his fashion. Today he looks like his Grandpa, and he is happy with it. Arthur agreed that he is now an old winter naked oak tree. Whose leaves are shredded by the natural spell, and it is aging under nature's influences. He is unable to enjoy the winter season like his younger grandson Tommy. He was shivering like an old British man. Despite wearing winter boots, his feet were almost frozen. Nothing is visible. Winter even frost the grasses. Now he cannot sit here anymore

"Tom, where are you? We have to go home," asked Arthur while cleaning his foggy specs.

"Oh! Grandpa, I cannot see anything," replied Tommy. The fog made everything invisible. Soft sunlight faded away a while ago. Now it is bleak midwinter. Somehow Tommy managed to see his Grandpa.

Arthur was groping the fog away to find his tiny grandson. Tommy found it funny. He hopped out of the frozen pond and held Arthur's hand. It soothed Arthur. Finally, he found this sweet little hand. He took his stick on the other hand and started walking steadily. He could hear Tommy's giggling. With curiosity, he asked Tommy,

-"What happened, my boy ?"

-"Nothing much Grandpa" answered Tommy . He humbly requested his Grandpa,

-"Grandpa, Can we buy some bangers ? Mom will bake Toad in the hole . It has been a while we didn’t eat this."

Only a few Pennies left in his left pocket, but what can he do. Being a Grandfather, it is his sole responsibility to fulfill his grandchildren's every wish, especially Tommy's wish. He indiscriminately loves Tommy. After his son Jhon died, he could only see Jhon's reflection in Tommy. He is pretty more likely to his father Jhon than his other siblings. The same innocence, politeness, softness, and pretty smile of John. On the way home, they stopped at the butchery and bought some bangers and portions of bacon. Tommy was quite happy after seeing the packet of bacon. Grandpa surprised him with bacon! Tonight there will be a delicious warm dinner waiting for them. Both old and young fellow started walking quickly to

reach home though the day started right now still this bacon and banger made them quite excited.

At home, Grace was waiting for both father-in-law and her youngest son. She cleaned the whole house. Everyone went to school except Tommy. He skipped his kindergarten to accompany his Grandpa. Like Grace, he is also fond of his Grandpa.
