Sherlock Holmes and John Watson

"I say Watson, did you take the Gilded Knife".

"You mean you lost the evidence on " The Case of the Gilded Hand". Watson answered incredulously.

"I placed it above the Mantelpiece, wrapped in brown paper". Sherlock replied.

"Irene Adler". They both blurted out, turning to look at each other. "The Woman" had visited earlier.

"Should we follow her now, Sherlock. We have to move quickly. What if she already got rid of it"?

"Not to worry Watson. She still has it. We both know she likes to play games. Irene will expect us to come looking for it. She will have hidden it well in her apartment".

"That damned 'Woman' ". Watson muttered under his breath.

"Watch her eyes Watson, note the first place that she looks. One always looks first at what is treasured if trouble appears". Watson understood, nodded.

Irene's apartment door opened. Nobody stood there.

"Hello boys". A voice said, directly in front of them.

"Sherlock"? Watson questioned.

"She stole the invisible cloak from Mycroft, Watson".

"Then how can I watch her eyes. Last time she was stark naked. Now invisible". Watson whispered.

Touching Sherlock's cheek lightly, Irene's laugh echoed down the corridor.

She had won...again!
