Suddenly, he feels a sudden pressure pushing against him. He quickly stumbles back from the attack, realizing that he was pushed forward by someone or something. As he turns around to look at the person who did this, his mouth opens wide in shock. Standing right behind him is none other than a woman dressed in all black. Her raven black hair flows freely down her back as she holds a wicked-looking dagger in one hand. She stares down at him coldly with her icy red eyes. He takes a step back and clutches his side, trying to stop the blood from flowing out of his chest.

"I'm guessing you're responsible for killing my daughter," she says emotionlessly, her tone laced with venom. "You've ruined everything."

He freezes and stares at her in disbelief. He's seen many things throughout the years, he's met many people who were willing to kill others to gain power. He's seen countless evil men and women, but to think that there's such a person out there is absolutely impossible. This woman is nothing more than a monster, he knows for certain now.

He stares up at her with a shocked expression. "How? What do you mean I killed your daughter?"

She looks down at him and rolls her eyes, a slight smile tugging at her lips. "Oh please, I know you didn't want this, don't try to deny it. You wanted to bring Erika here, didn't you?" He nods his head vigorously and raises an eyebrow at her, daring her to continue. She lets out a small laugh and shakes her head, her raven hair swaying around her shoulders as she looks at him, clearly amused by the situation. She turns around and faces the forest, walking in the direction where her daughter disappeared. She doesn't look back at him once.

"What do you plan to do with her now?" he asks quietly, struggling to walk alongside her.

"Now I am going to return her to my husband, that is all you need concern yourself with."

He doesn't respond to her, choosing instead to stare at his feet as they shuffle through the grass. He can feel his breath coming harder and harder as exhaustion starts to set in. If he wasn't already injured, that would have done the trick. But as it is, he decides he'll rest for a minute or two, it wouldn't hurt to take a little breather anyway.

"Do you really think that you have a chance of surviving here?" he speaks up after a few minutes of silence. She looks back over her shoulder briefly at him before turning her attention back towards the forest.

"Survive...? Why shouldn't I?"

His eyebrows furrow together and he frowns deeply, not expecting her response.

"Because no human being should be allowed to live like this!"

She looks at him and laughs lightly, "That's what I always thought too. After all, humans are weak creatures. They can't even control their own emotions properly. How else would you explain such pathetic creatures like yourself and your little band of followers?"

She looks back ahead of her once more and sighs loudly.

"But now, it seems that I have changed my mind. It seems that I have found an even stronger creature, capable of doing the unthinkable. A creature which I have never seen before, not even my husband. Someone capable of killing a whole group of vampires within a matter of seconds. No one could ever possibly hope to surpass this. I can only imagine how strong that creature must be to have survived the attack we were just in. You may have killed my daughter, but I shall show you the true power of my husband, and the kingdom that I am about to take over."

She stops talking for a moment and turns her gaze to the forest in front of them.

"So, tell me... how are we going to do this?"

She waits for him to reply, but when she doesn't get any, she shrugs her shoulders.

"Very well," she mutters, continuing to walk forwards. He follows closely behind her, his body feeling extremely sore, but he doesn't dare slow down. "After we complete this task, you will join me, I promise you that. Your death will be quick and painless. Now, follow me."

To be continued…
