Karen was yelling at her guards down the hallway, her loud screams echoed off the walls. Her distinctive voice stuck in the girl's mind. The girl tried to move but she was stuck, tied to the bed with limited restrictions.

“Don’t move from here, I'm not having her escaping again!” Karen yells, a door slams in the distance making her jump. The girl opened her eyes, but all she could see was darkness. A blindfold covered her eyes. Her hands were tied to a post above her head, quite tightly and her legs tied together. Something in her system made her very weak, lethargic and unable to struggle. Every movement hurt, her muscles ache and she can feel her heartbeat quickly in her chest. The noises from outside have stopped.

The girl takes a deep breath in and relaxes her muscles, her heart slows down now. There is nothing she can do, she’s too tired to try and break out. Relaxing is her best option, any movement hurts. She is finally beaten, Karen finally got what she wanted. The Sparrow was finally locked away. Karens face kept flashing in her mind, that devilish smile.

All of the bad things the Sparrow has done all her life, she is now paying the price. All the stealing, the drugs she’s taken and all the money, life in prison. Just because she’s made bad mistakes in life didn’t make her a bad person. She was just misunderstood. She lost her parents at a young age, forced into a foster home where everyone was cruel to her, they neglected her and left her alone. So, the girl took off into the wide world. She found drugs on the street, she stole money from people who had it loose in their pockets and stole from shops that didn't have any security. Her face became viral and was named the Sparrow by the police.

The past was swimming in the girl's mind. She didn’t feel a great lot of guilt, she needed all of these things to live. She met with Karen several times whilst on the run. And then it happened. She met with Karen in a forest, police on all sides of her, she was surrounded, nowhere to go. She could only watch as Karen raised the gun, the Sparrow twitched, the trigger was pressed, and a tranquiliser went flying into her neck. Within seconds she was on the ground unconscious. Although she was in a deep sleep the police surrounded her, guns pointing, she was a very unpredictable person, but the Sparrow never woke and was escorted to a high security prison.

Now lying half asleep and tied to a bed the Sparrow could only reflect on meeting Karen in the forest. The way she looked at her, the way she smiled, it was time to shoot the Sparrow. Karen smiled before pressing the trigger, it was the happiest moment of her life locking the Sparrow away

This was it now. The Sparrow felt like this was her chamber, her chamber -

BANG! Something woke the Sparrow with a start. She sat upright in the bed, looking down towards the ground she saw a box on the floor that had fallen.

“Phew” she takes a sigh of relief and rubs her chest. She falls down on the bed and looks towards the ceiling. It was just a dream. Karen’s face keeps coming back to haunt her, the feeling of guilt twinges on her mind. But she’s free now, free to roam all of time and space. Karen may have had her in her grasp once before, but the Sparrow escaped her prison. She escaped Karen, she escaped her nightmarish visions.

She made her way to the chair, a blue tide surrounded the skies, white stars sparkled and that yellow planet from earlier was in sight. Nine days to go. Nine days until her first adventure. Nine days and she would finally forget Karen.
