Lily and her team made it back to the garden, but they knew that they were not safe. The raiders were closing in on them, and they had to find a way to protect the garden and themselves.

As they worked to reinforce the garden's defenses, strange things started to happen. Plants began to wither and die, despite their best efforts to keep them alive. There was a foul smell in the air, and the sky seemed to darken even more than usual.

Lily started to investigate, trying to find out what was causing the plants to die. She found strange markings on the ground around the garden, markings that looked like they had been made by some kind of animal. But the markings were too big to be from any animal that Lily had ever seen.

As the days went on, things only got worse. The sky stayed dark, and the smell grew stronger. The survivors started to disappear, one by one, until only Lily and Marcus were left.

One night, as they were standing guard, Lily saw movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned to look, but there was nothing there. She chalked it up to fatigue and lack of sleep.

But then, she heard a strange noise coming from the garden. It was a low growl, like nothing she had ever heard before. She called out to Marcus, but he didn't answer.

She went to look for him and found him lying on the ground, unconscious. There were strange marks on his skin, marks that looked like they had been made by some kind of creature.

Lily knew that she had to get out of there. She grabbed a few supplies and ran, leaving the garden behind.

As she fled, she heard strange noises all around her. It sounded like something was following her, something that was not human.

She made it to a small town and found shelter in an abandoned house. But the strange occurrences followed her there. Plants started to die, and the smell of death was all around her.

Lily knew that she had to find out what was going on. She went to the town's library and started to research the strange markings and the strange creatures that she had seen.

She found an old book, written by a man who had lived in the area a hundred years ago. He wrote about a curse that had been put on the land, a curse that had caused all the plants to die and all the animals to turn into monsters.

Lily realized that the curse was still alive, and that it was spreading. She knew that she had to find a way to break the curse before it was too late.

She went back to the garden, armed with what she had learned. She found the source of the curse, an old tomb in the center of the garden. She went inside and found the remains of the person who had put the curse on the land.

Lily knew what she had to do. She performed a ritual, breaking the curse and freeing the land from its hold.

The garden came back to life, and the sky cleared. The smell of death was gone, and the strange creatures disappeared.

Lily knew that she had saved the land, but she also knew that she could never go back. The memory of what had happened would haunt her forever.
