It is said that the day will one day come that humans and the creatures of legend will live peacefully together. For this type of peace to reside, both parties must lay aside their pride. The pride of humans and dragons has yet to be tamed by any leaders that have come before hand but of all of the species of dragons, none are more proud of their race than the Eyeshirah dragons. The young Eyeshirah scout flies over the thick wooded area from which he heard human screams "These fragile things are quick to cause trouble, but their shrieks of terror definitely intrigues me." He heard three loud explosions from underneath him. Flocks of birds flew in his direction, the complete silence other than rustling leaves was very eerie indeed. He dives in closer and is his with the strong distinct smell of blood, however it came from two sources. A human and an animal. Cautious and now very confused and weary of what he may run into, he planted himself on a high sitting branch and looked for signs of movement. A fair amount of times passes and no signs of life or movement were neither heard or seen, he decided to to fly down to survey the area. Careful to avoid the strongest concentration of blood, he closed the distance on foot with his wings pressed firmly on his back. "Whatever or whoever is here, I definitely need to be able to escape if need be." The sudden sound of crying was able to drive his curiosity over the edge. "A human child! A human child here?!" The area he was in has been used as a scout's training area for centuries and no adolescent species has had favorable conditions for survival and its truly no better for the mature, even for his kind. For him being a young, new scout he was now faced with two decisions... report his findings the his superiors which could run the possibility of it being nothing serious or he could get closer and dirty his hands. His train of thought however was interrupted by the cries of the human child which quickly turned into blood curdling screams. His tympanums rang violently as he was forced to his knees. The pain was harrowing yet he refused to cry out in agony. "A crying dragon is a weak dragon." He repeated to himself as he crawled agonizingly slow towards the human child. "If I don't shut her up my hearing will be lost permanently!" When he was finally able to lay eyes on the powerful lunged little creature, his face was washed with horror that quickly became anger. He saw a young human child clinging to the body of a large adult who was showing the faintest signs of life do to the dangerous amount of blood loss and large adult wolves nipping and growling at what they perceived to be an easy meal. A little off to the side he saw one wolf dead and one with a massive hole in its torso, barely holding on to life itself. A young dragon who preferred science over violence was considering to let nature take its course, but he he has a heart and with the speed and agility he possesses, he couldn't in good conscience let natural selection have a say in the matter. With breakneck speed he put himself between the humans and the animals. Both the little girl and the wolf pack were taken aback by the wrench thrown in the works. The child buried her face into the face of her fallen male protector while the wolves not only took a step back but began to encircle them. He wasn't concerned with the canine's on these canines due to his armor plated hide but the young child was a different issue. The crying was muffled enough that he could function effectively and with her looking away he didn't see the need to hold back. He emitted an extremely low frequency growl which temporarily stunned the pack but left the humans completely unaffected. One by one he slaughtered and or simply threw the wolves in the distance. The stifled cries of the little human completely stopped and as he turned around he came face to face with her. Neither of them moved an inch as the small human was to afraid to do anything and he was fearful of startling her and causing her to scream and incapacitate him with her high pitched frequencies. A small vibration in his ear snaps him out of his staring contest yet the girl did not seem to notice. It was his communicator. "This is Eyelijah, go ahead. Yes sir I am still surveying the area... other than a few wolves no actual danger... sir are you sure its him? Rodger, I am en route." He knew all to well to mention the .presence of humans to his commander. Eyelijah returned his focus to the little girl but her gaze shifted elsewhere. He felt an intense burning sensation on his back and it was getting closer. It was way to close to flee so he spread his wings, shielding himself and the fragile humans and braced himself for the damage he would receive. His legs buckled under the attack but he was alive as well as the others. He slowly got up and assessed the damage. "Everything within a 1500 meter radius was completely obliterated, we cant take another hit like that!." Upon getting to his feet he noticed blood had encircled his body. Frantically he begins to feel his back for the source and to his horror he finds several holes burned directly through his wings. "So.. this is the price for protecting the inferior race." He whispered to himself, he however he no time to wallow in self pity, another one of those and they would be finished. Eyelijah gazed upon the two humans and noticed that the shock wave from the attack had rendered them unconscious. "Even if I left them both here, we would all meet a swift end." A call comes through on his communicator "We're under attack, I repeat.. HE is here and we are under attack!! What the hell was that explosion?!" "Sir... the sacred grounds have been hit. I'm not sure how much we..." His speech began to slow as he starting fading in and out of consciousness. He had lost more blood than he realized "We?! Hello Eye! Eye!" He dropped to the ground and his body landed beside the adult humans body. "Dammit hold on soldier! Sarge we have a man down! Get a rescue team ready to depart to the sacred grounds!"
