In the way we go through the night as his horns guide us into the cave of darkness where we hear a river running through our mind that makes us feel alive in a way that flows magic from our finger tips and soul.

“It’s cold.” She asked.

“To cold.” The other replied.

“It’ll be hotter be the fire.” She said.

“Than we better get a move on it.” The other replied.

“ Oh yeah.” She said with a clouded mind.

It was dangerous as she barely moved them with her mind. The feeling of them running to hunt her unreal. She had to use her dark skills to survive the test and gauntlet. Her and her sister would run at no end to escape the trials behind them. Her only hope was to reach Malachi, an old buddy to fight, as she learned the law better.

“You, okay?” she asked the younger one.

“Yes, we have to reach the river.” She replied to the.

“The only way to when is the fruit.” The older comforted.

“The Magic of the Nile?” She wondered

“Yes.” she smiled. “It’ll help our magic grow.”

“We will be able to protect ourselves.” She smiled.

They had used a vanishing spell to get past the local tribes in the forest. There stomachs had turned unlike no other. They had to get rest after hunting. The magic used there energy and spirit.

“Hurry.” she said out loud.

“We got to make.” Esther was tired. “We got to make it.”

“I know.” Mialay said.

A bear-like was in front of her it had the horns showing on it’s head. Danger was clear to them. Mialay used her strength to move the river water and force the creature un the river.

“Ah.” Mialay hollered.

“I have you sister.” Esther said as a spirit grabbed her head from behind.

Mialay used her spirit to push away the dark one that grabbed a hold, as the tree masked gripped her face. She had to free her self from it to run with her sister. The trails to fierce they had almost made it along the way. They believed Malachi could resurruct the map some how. It was to dangerous to behold.

“How much further, Mialay?” Esther whispered to her.

“Not far to go?” she smiled “Soon we will see Malachi and it all will be safe.”

“I know, but still.” Esther grunted “How much magic we gotta use til we get caught, again.”

“Not much we just gotta hide better, more stealth.” She continued to smile unshaken.

The day was rising high as the night was almost upon them. It was more quiet than usual. They started on camp to stay safe. While they were staying warm they felt danger unbelievable. They only wished to return to safety in there mind, but after the hunt what choice would they have to make. The sun started rising. They were still tired though from the cold night behind them.

“Do you think we will ever find peace?” Esther asked.

“Yes.” she sighed, but was interrupted by a voice.

“Hey, you two aren’t supposed to be down there.” The man hollered “ Lucky for me it’s just you guys.”

It was Malachi smiling bright in the distance. They had broke out laughing. A feeling of relief had came over them. A feeling of no other. Malachi had started running down. He hadn’t seen them in, so long. They were excited. A Meloncaly feeling had came over them though after what had happened.

“Hey we have to hurry before the soldiers come.” Malachi whispered.

They ran into the woods for safety where he had came from.

They were off in the woods now, by their surprise it had started to snow. The winter holidays were upon them, so quickly after their run. They had used their powers to survive the snowfall. They were able to rest in the eyes of their spirit’s that guided them in life. They were almost there. The night grew colder in the wind. They used fire and barrier magic to stay warm through the night.

“Want to build a tree?” Esther replied to the environment.

Mialay smiled at her knowing it didn’t get to her mentally. Her sister she loved more than anyone. They had to make the night special to each other and with Malachi. Malachi just returned with food and camping staples. They never had time to rest, but tonight felt different. Malachi started collecting worldly things to build a tree instead of using an up rooted on. Mialay started to cook the things they had.

“It’ll be enough to feast a little.” Esther laughed.

“Replenish our vitamins.” Malachi reminded.

“Yes.” Mialay agreed.

The tree was beautiful, as they talked. They went non-stop on the good times in their mind feeding their energy healing there spirit. They couldn’t help, but laugh, again. The night went on they could see a horned beast outside of the barrier stalking them pacing back in fourth. They had no choice, but to sleep and get rest. While they slept, thier was wings behind the tree covering them from the sight. Feathered in all their greatness with the tree splitting them. Esther was half asleep and smiled.

The Dark Angel

Chapter Two

“Mialay?” Esther asked her in panic.

“What, Esther?’ Mialay replied.

“I had a nightmare!” Esther started to tell her. “This spirit had came to me.”

“In your sleep?” Mialay asked.

“Yes!” She laughed “ A lady with wings, not angelic!”

She still felt spoked in her spirit. The feeling that came from her unimaginable.

“What?” Malachi asked.

“She was young in appearance, but ancient in age. She spoke in a dark tongue. Something extinct to us. She told me of the past and how to prevent more trials to come. She peered into my mind. Showed me visions of the past, of ancient days.” Esther said shaking.

“Who is she?” Mialay asked.

“I don’t know.” Esther said honestly. “The spirit told me of a pathway, a quest to a spell.”

“Really?” Malachi looked.

“Yes, we have to make it to the Nile.” Esther looked strong. “Draw the magic from it, to lock it inside!”

“Okay, spare others.” Mialay stated. “We can’t deny this.”

“She’ll come to me more!”

The time was now she could feel it in her mind. The danger passed in her mind, but the spirit was still there. Whispering in her nightmares, taunting her. The darkness over took her mind and with it could not stop lurking around her. Esther had felt the haunting upon her til she could stay awake no more. She made it through her long nights praying to the Gods before. The had to go into the tunnels. Pass through the chambers of پشوو* and into the halls. It got more frightening by the day.

“Do you still miss Malachi?” Esther asked.

“Yes.” Mialay answered. “I think he still fears us getting hurt.”

“The spirits drew him away.”

“But he will always care.”

“We know!”

It was almost day time in their mind, but they were under ground unable to see it. The feeling still was with them to hurry. Esther’s mind was crowded and way to weary to be able to overcome. The feeling we have had to change. There being away to lock the magic in the Nile!

“What next, again?” Esther had asked.

“We go through!” Mialay answered. “You know this.”

“Yes and ready.” She replied.”

“We will not be stopped either.” She said with an eerie grin.

“Δεν θα μας σταματήσουν*” Something whispered in Esther.

They had entered the tunnel. It was dark damp and more scarier than they had thought. It was real enough to bring on more fear than was needed. Ancient markings were scattered on the wall. They knew it would not end them.

“Mialay?” Esther said questionable.

“Bitch, I can’t stop itching.” Mialay kept wanting to scream, but didn’t. The fear over taking her in her mind.

“What did you call me?” Esther laughed at her non-stop as she was itchig herself.

“What did we do!”

“Get put on trial for things we didn’t do!”

“We are almost to the tomb to escape.”

It was almost unbearable to feel the pain of the talitridae, especially when they were in force. Getting rid of them more painful as they fought to get under your skin. The danger was non-stop as the laughter. They saw a bathing room shockingly the spring water was still there. They stripped down to nothing to make ready to relax. The soothing sauna was enough for anyone to waste a day.

The morning was bleak after her dream of the spirit looking at her, telling her. The angel from a darker realm. Past through the days in her mind. She could took it in her mental state, but the feeling of fighting over took her. She felt different in a way. The world of the past pressing on her mind. The ancient days of old.

“Hey, what should we do? Our plan of attack when we reach.” Esther had started to tell about and talk more on. She was sweating in a different way. “The magic could be unstoppable.” She continued in an eerie voice. A hazy shadow covered her eyes.

“We should focus on our strikes!” She said confident, but sounded nervous to the ear.

“Yea, evade would be better.” An eeriness in her whispered. “To dodge than hit to see it.”

“You’ve changed.” Mialay told her back. “I need the old Esther.”

“Okay.” Esther whispered with love.

They thought about the shore how nice it was. The lines in the ssky to the edge of the water. Being stuck in the sand dune tunnels raised anxiety. The psychosis that battled her with another spirit in Esther. Now the feeling of fear made it rougher on them. While something more jumped up and down around them. We have almost made it the walls knew they said in their minds.

“Ah.” Mialay cried out as a powerful blast came her way from behind, but dodging her.

Esther had fired off a shot to get off whatever it was.

The Magic without a String

Chapter Three

Photo by Paulina Milde-Jachowska on Unsplash

In the days of the future. They would hook a string between two cups and communicate quietly from a distance. The conversations would eventually fall to children as the parents grew to radios mimicking our magic. That allowed us to connect between each other as the Nile drew us together before the Egyptian Gods. Now, though, in the past we must use the magic to survive the new and old time. Now, in front of the challenge ahead it’ll take them both.

“I can here the spirit of the devil mocking us!” Esther had said gravely as if they could be wiped from existence.

The danger they felt was unimaginable, but the bravery they had was even greater. The gallant steps they took into the abyss was another step toward protecting all that was and trapping the magic in the Nile where they could practice safely. The pyramids were still around them as the drifted back and fourth in their mind. The psychosis was still fighting Mialay while Esther still felt different in many was as if her personality was changing to quick as they felt different in their minds with walls around.

“Ο δρόμος είναι μακρύς” They heard around them as they slowly drifted hopefully to the end.

They couldn’t help, but notice the different writing “Li vir ji bo xwedayekî din mir” on the walls.

Where they where did not feel like where they had been. The danger was more immense than before. They now had hit a fork in the pathway around them as they had been in more of the labyrinth part of the spirits story. In their strange occurrence they realized they had to split up now.

“I know what to do!” Mialay reminded her as she went around the one Pharaohs Tomb. She found two of the cups needed for the magic ahead to stay in contact.

“No! We can’t split up now Mialay.” Esther reminded her.

“I’ve already enchanted them! No string required this round.’’ Mialay had told her.

The feeling was bad as they had split apart. In the end, we did not stick together as the world’s energy was splitting them apart. She panicked more and more as they did not quit their race. they knew with their spirits linked together by blood they could become at each others side in an instant.

“ We need to split off. Can you hear me?” She whispered in the cup from a far. The cup resembled a cup used for a game of dice, both of them. Made of stone with a scratched enchantment on it. They used these to listen through the walls of stone and more from the far distance in between.

“Yes! I’m scared, but ready to go off!” She replied.
