She waited. Not unlike the many times she had waited before.

Promise after promise fell into disappointment, and each disappointment penetrated her mind, like the thorns on a beautiful red rose.

As the headlights danced on the curtains, her heart began to race. All of the excuses flooded through her mind, like traffic on the 101. And the storm inside her raged.

By the time he opened the door, hells fury had already been unleashed.

The room filled with gunpowder. The humming in her ears masked his screams.

She disappeared down the lane, and out of the storm.

This story is spellbinding and horrific! I could feel the fury that unleashed itself on whoever ? was in the room with her as she left the storm behind to escape into nature's storm, which seemed mild in comparison. Well done!

  • Is your husband worried, Kelli or has he never blamed traffic on the 101?
