Legend has it that two Divitian Captains engaged in a race to see which of them could sail to Castle Drandaar. While neither D'bari nor Serifina had ever seen a route through the great reef surrounding the island, they each believed they had solved it on their own. They agreed to start from the shallow waters of the Port of Hornshir.

D'bari and her sister sailed Aeterin and make their way Nord along the coast past the Three River's Shire and sail across to the Bright Desert to follow its barren shores all the way to her goal. While it would be laborious, this route would allow her to get supplies at Freeman's Port before the long trek along the Aeterin coast. D'bari's plan worked, and she found herself at the reef in about a vry's time.

Now Serifina thought that was too slow. Instead, she would first sail Sur to Watch Keep, then take a shortcut Estan through the Deep Marsh she had found. Ultimately, she planned on sailing up the Estan coast, which would allow her to take a smaller ship and replenish often. This would have been a good plan if it weren't for an unplanned storm brewing along her route.

As Serifina made her way through the Imbri Sea, the storm moved in from the Sur. The waves grew to be three times their normal size, and the rain flew like daggers into the sailors. No matter what they tried, Serifina could not keep the ship off the rocks. Seeing that there was no hope, she desperately used the force of the wind to lift her ship to the top of the cliffs instead of crashing them against the jagged rocks. Her sister Sori tended to the rigging while she held the wheel.

The bow of the Freedom pointed straight at the cliffs as another tremendous gust filled their sails. As the ship surged forward, an odd light erupted before them. None could say if it was lightning or if their ship had burst into flame. They were all too busy fighting for their lives to care. When they all could see again, they found themselves alive and their ship in one piece.

The waters were calm, and the Freedom was anchored within sight of the shore. Instead of cliffs, the beach was sandy and inviting. Everything they saw seemed different than what they knew. None of the coastline looked familiar, and the buildings seemed sculpted from metal. It was nothing like anything they had ever seen.

Serifina left her sister Sori in charge of the ship as she took her favorite boarding team with her in a dandy and set for shore. Sori watched as her sister and the team made their way to the shore. However, as soon as Serifina set foot on the shore, another light blinded her and the crew. When their vision returned, they were shocked at what they saw.

The Freedom lay shattered around them and the storm still raged as strong as it had before. Sori quickly ordered the crew to get the wounded to the largest part of the ship's debris and they waited out the storm. When it passed, Serifina and her boarding party were nowhere to be found. Although the ship had been shattered, they were certain the dandy Serifina had taken was gone as well.

When Sori finally met up with D'bari, both she and her sister were several years older surprised her. D'bari asked where Serifina was, and Sori told her what had transpired. Rumor has it that Sori has never given up the search for her sister to this tag. And, because of the bond between them, she has aged slower than any Divitian ever known.

Now common wisdom says this was impossible, but we all know it is often wrong. So if you are in the Imbri Sea and a storm suddenly hits you from the Sur, hold onto your ship or you might just find yourself in another land far from your friends and family.
