The Dragons Watching Over Us

Not All Dragons Are Fantasy

Chapter I: Our Time Has Come

There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. It was a sign of the times, unfortunately. At least we had someone on our side to protect us from the blatant attempt of a government takeover that this country had been facing. We desperately needed a group like The Dragons, made up by the citizens; for the citizens. They could be compared to the American soldiers in Germany during World War II, except all civilians. Civilians who were going against our own government in order to protect our individual rights.

The Dragons were known to move in when they saw unfair governing and bring justice to all of those abusing their power. They were originally set in place to invoke stricter gun regulations. The group had also set out to sweep the land of any and all ghost guns. They agreed with the government’s views on not allowing citizens access to purchase any parts to erect their own weapons at home. All firearms should be registered and completely legal, yet it wasn’t enough. The Dragons, however, soon noticed that the citizens needed them now more than ever. The government was trying to completely disarm the people.

With the birth of The Dragons the country was no longer torn in two. People were beginning to see that there were other options to who they decided to support. Though not a political party, officially, The Dragons were here and they were getting attention. Huge waves were being made and plans being destroyed. The Dragons have vowed to never allow full disarming of all civilians. They, without a doubt, believe there is no valid reason for anyone to be stripped of their right to protect themselves and/or their families.

The sad fact of the matter is with everyone too busy trying to blame each other for the upheaval of gun violence lately, let alone all crime in general, someone needed to step in. Nobody wants to find a solution to the problem. They just want to point fingers. The Dragons seem to understand that placing blame doesn’t render a solution. Instead, we need to own up to our own shortcomings and take time to acknowledge where we need to put in more effort to protect our citizens daily.

By vowing to protect our citizens The Dragons, a mere group of citizens, were handling things more mature and rational than both parties who were supposed to be running the show. Granted, some of their methods could be considered reprehensible by government standards, but they sure did get their message across. Our country desperately needed these men and women in a time like this. Most citizens are afraid to step outside their homes in fear of being killed. Parents are becoming more wary of letting their children go to a playground. Things are completely out of control and this honestly could be our last hope of survival.

Sounds crazy, but we are a land at war with itself. There is an old expression which states, “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”. That could not be more true. Too many people are sitting at home hoping for a change. The Dragons came to let everyone know that they’re tired of sitting and waiting. They are here to take action and take back our freedom. They are a beacon of light in an otherwise dark day and age. To say that this was a well needed uprising of citizens would be an understatement. The things they have accomplished in the streets so far have left most law enforcement in awe.

The group is abundantly growing. Each week a new chapter is added in another land. Interest is growing with progress being made. Neighbors are opening lines of communication again and things are starting to change. More firearm handling and safety classes are made easily available. There is more awareness of mental health issues being brought to light by the group as well. This is something often mentioned during a time of tragedy, but usually pushed aside once hidden from the limelight. The Dragons are no longer allowing this to be forgotten for the average Joe. They are pointing out the damages caused by those “forgotten” by the system once the dust settles. They are making sure there is such a thing as preventative care maintenance and making it attainable to anyone in need; regardless of social stature.

This ever-growing group of protectors exploded on the scene in a time of pure panic and desperation doing so many good things all at once. The citizens had a tendency to jump on to anything promising a glimmer of hope towards a better tomorrow. The Dragons seemed to be that hope that they so desperately craved, but could they really manage to work alongside the government watching them and reprimanding their unjust practices without being persecuted at some point for challenging government officials and/or laws? Is society, at this point in time, capable of that level of growth, maturity, humility, and understanding to make this thing actually successful in the long run? This whole thing could be the beginning of the end for us causing utter destruction of society as a whole, but it seems to be going well; so far. One can only pray it will stay that way.
