It was a moonless night, and the darkness was so intense that you could barely see your hand in front of your face. The only sounds that could be heard were the howls of the wind and the creaks of the old wooden house. The house was situated in the middle of a dense forest and was said to be haunted.

Four elderly people, Mr Johnson, Mrs Smith, Mrs Brown, and Mr Davis, had come to the house for a weekend getaway. They had heard about the ghost stories surrounding the place and wanted to see if they were true. The four of them were friends from college and had always been drawn to the mysterious and the unknown.

Two kids, Timmy and Sally, had accompanied their parents on the trip. Timmy was ten years old, and Sally was eight. They were both adventurous and loved exploring new places. The kids had heard the ghost stories too, but they were not scared, they thought it would be exciting to have a real-life adventure.

Along with them, there were two teenagers, Rachel and Tom. Rachel was a photography enthusiast and was excited to take some pictures of the old house and the forest. Tom was interested in ghost stories and was curious about the legends surrounding the house.

There was also a monkey named Charlie, who had joined the group as a pet. He was a lively and playful animal, always entertaining everyone with his antics.

As soon as they entered the house, they could feel that something was not right. The air was thick and heavy, and they could hear strange whispers coming from the walls. Mrs Smith, who was known to be superstitious, immediately felt that they were not alone. The others tried to brush it off and laughed, thinking it was just their imagination.

However, as the night progressed, strange things started to happen. Doors would open and close by themselves, and they could hear footsteps coming from the empty rooms. The kids were especially frightened, and they huddled together, not daring to move from their spot.

Mr Johnson suggested that they should all go to bed and try to get some sleep. The others agreed, and they all went to their respective rooms. However, as soon as they turned off the lights, they could hear the whispers getting louder and more intense. Mrs Smith was so scared that she couldn't sleep, and she decided to stay up and keep watch.

In the middle of the night, they heard a loud bang coming from the basement. Mrs Smith immediately woke up the others, and they all went down to the basement to investigate. To their horror, they saw that the door to the basement was wide open, and they could see the ghostly figure of a woman standing at the other end of the room.

The group was paralyzed with fear, and they couldn't move. The ghostly figure started to move towards them, and they could feel the temperature dropping rapidly. Suddenly, Charlie, the monkey jumped out of nowhere and started to attack the ghostly figure. To their surprise, the figure disappeared into thin air, and the monkey was left standing there, looking bewildered.

The group was shocked, and they couldn't believe what had just happened. They decided to leave the house as soon as possible and never look back. As they were packing their bags, they heard a voice that seemed to be coming from the walls. The voice told them that the house was haunted by the spirit of a woman who had died there many years ago. She had been seeking revenge on those who had wronged her, but now she was finally at peace, thanks to the bravery of the

monkey, Charlie. The group was amazed and grateful to Charlie for saving them. They quickly left the house, not daring to look back.

As they made their way back home, they couldn't stop talking about their experience. They all agreed that they would never forget the night and the bravery of the little monkey who had saved their lives.

From that day on, the group would always remember the night and its bravery of Charlie. They would tell their story to anyone who would listen, and the legend of the haunted house and the bravery of the monkey would be passed down from generation to generation.

Years later, when the group had grown old and grey, they would look back on that night and smile, knowing that they had been a part of something truly special and truly terrifying. They would always be grateful to Charlie for saving their lives, and they would never forget the night and the bravery of the little monkey.

The end.
