Jack watched as Willow pulled him another tap beer. Listening to the woman that approached him two hours ago drone on about life, Jack felt the urge to drown his sorrows in copious amounts of alcohol. As the crowd slowly thinned, he realized that his sorrows were the least of his concerns.
Cora sat there, like nothing happened today that made a difference. What she was doing, sneakily, had gone mostly unnoticed. As the crowd thinned again, he saw a chance.
Grabbing the gun in her hand, Jack flattened her nose.
"You're under arrest."
Jack was a city cop.
