The Apple Tree

Parents and Children

By SadathPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled between rolling hills and verdant fields, there lived a family – a father, a mother, and their two children, a boy and a girl. They were a happy family, always laughing and joking and enjoying each other's company.

One day, while out for a walk in the countryside, the children came across a small apple tree. It was a scrawny thing, with only a few leaves and even fewer apples, but it captured their attention nonetheless.

"Look at this tree!" exclaimed the boy. "It's so small and pathetic."

The girl shook her head. "No, it's not. It's beautiful in its own way."

The father, who had been listening to their conversation, smiled at his daughter's words. "She's right, you know. Every living thing has its own beauty. Even a small, struggling apple tree like this."

The mother nodded in agreement. "And you never know – maybe with a little love and care, it will grow into something truly magnificent."

And so, the family decided to adopt the apple tree as their own. They watered it, fertilized it, and tended to it every day. At first, there was no change in the tree's appearance – it remained small and scrawny, with only a few leaves and a handful of apples.

But as the days passed, the family began to notice something remarkable happening. The leaves grew greener, the trunk grew thicker, and the apples grew rounder and juicier. Before long, the tree had grown into a towering behemoth, with branches reaching high into the sky and hundreds of apples hanging from its boughs.

The family was overjoyed at their success. They had taken a small, struggling apple tree and turned it into something beautiful and bountiful. And in the process, they had grown even closer as a family, bonded together by their shared love and care for the tree.

As the years passed, the tree continued to thrive, and the family continued to enjoy its bounty. They would sit beneath its shade on hot summer afternoons, munching on juicy apples and laughing at each other's jokes. They would climb its branches and play hide-and-seek among its leaves. And every fall, they would gather the ripe apples and make pies and cider and all sorts of delicious treats.

But as the children grew older and began to carve out their own lives, the family's visits to the apple tree grew fewer and farther between. The father and mother still tended to the tree, still marveled at its beauty and bounty, but it was not quite the same without their children there to share in the joy.

One day, the father received a phone call from his son. "Dad, I'm coming home for a visit," he said. "I want to see the old apple tree again."

The father was overjoyed at the news. He couldn't wait to show his son how much the tree had grown, how beautiful it had become. And when the son arrived, they went straight out to the orchard to see it.

To their surprise, the tree had grown even larger since the son had last seen it. Its branches were heavy with fruit, and its leaves rustled in the gentle breeze.

"Wow," said the son, his eyes wide with wonder. "It's amazing how much this tree has grown."

The father smiled. "Yes, it is. And you know what? It's all thanks to you and your sister. Without your love and care, this tree might never have grown into the beautiful thing it is today."

The son nodded, his eyes misting over with sentiment. "I remember all the times we used
