Terrible, Ô Terrible Mistake
Glowing light
There’s eyes glowing in the night, appearing and disappearing with the snowfall. She blinks a few times, trying to escape the sharpness of the snowflakes. Her feet keep getting in hidden abysses and her clothes, so terribly wet, are clinging to her body like a horrible double skin, keeping her from moving properly. She shouldn’t have come this late and by that weather.
But stubbornness is written in her bones.
Her head jerks to the side when she hears frenetic footsteps coming her way. Her vision can’t break through the darkness, all she can get hold of is a small green glow, getting bigger and bigger.
And much, much closer.
— Oh, sh*t, she muttered.
She runs, as fast as her feet can go, but there’s always something in the way : fallen trees, holes in the track… Her breath is heavier. She can’t help but curse her weak stamina. The footsteps are right behind her, so loud. She quickens her pace, but for no avail. The green light is getting wider, but she can't go any faster.
And here comes the fatality : she trips.
She falls face first, snow entering her mouth. It doesn’t take long before something jumps on her back. A freezing nose finds its way to her neck and she screams.
— Oh, come on! Go away, you crazy dog!
A bark pierces her ears as her silly German Shepherd steps away, making her rolls her eyes and his illuminated collar making everything glowing green all over them.
