Tenali Raman Story

One upon a time, A queen loses her bracelet in the garden and immediately accuses one of her servants of stealing it. The servant pleads his innocence, but the queen is not convinced. She believes that he is the one who stole her bracelet. Tenali Raman, who was a court poet and jester in the court of the Vijayanagara Empire, came to know of the incident and offered to help solve the case. He asked the queen to give him three days’ time to find the real thief. The queen, who was eager to find her bracelet, agrees to Tenali Raman's request.

Tenali Raman, being a man of wit and intelligence, came up with a plan to catch the real thief. He went to the garden the next day and placed a plate of delicious sweets under a tree. He then hid himself behind a bush and waited. After a short while, a monkey came and took the sweets along with the plate. Tenali Raman followed the monkey and found that it had taken the plate and the sweets to its nest in a tree. He watched as the monkey took out the queen's bracelet from a small bag and put it on.

Tenali Raman went back to the queen and narrated the whole incident to her. The queen was shocked and realized that she had falsely accused her servant. She apologized to the servant and gave him a handsome reward for his service. She also thanked Tenali Raman for his clever solution and for helping her find her bracelet.
