It is a story of a young boy named Prithvi who lived with his family, elder sister, and grandparents in New Delhi. Prithvi's dad and granddad were government servants in Northern Railways, which gave them an administration quarter. The boy was born on the 20th of April 1996. So, they were living a happy life.

Progressively time passed. Prithvi additionally took on school with his elder sister Nisha. Nisha loves his little brother very much, and she also used to go to Prithvi's classroom to check on him, and most of the time teacher complained about him for his mischievousness. The teacher also asked Nisha to tell their parents about Prithvi's mischievousness. The teacher only wanted Prithvi to give more attention to his studies. But on the way home, Prithvi managed to convince Nisha not to say anything about their parents. He also promises to focus more on his studies, and it won't happen next time. So, Nisha never told.

Prithvi was the youngest in the house, so everyone loved him very much. His grandfather used to bring new toys for him almost regularly. He also plays with his grandparents, mother, and sister in their garden. But when his birthday comes, he gets tons of presents from everyone in the family. On this day, his mother used to fulfill every wish of Prithvi. Sometimes Nisha gets jealous of Prithvi that her mother loves him more than her, but her father balances this love by giving her daughter more attention. The parents always love their children equally, but sometimes they are just more concerned about the younger ones. It was an ordinary thing.

Everything was going very well in their life until Prithvi's mother got sick. Rajveer was very worried, and he visited almost every big hospital and doctor in the town. But it didn't work. Nisha and Prithvi were sad. Their mom battled with sickness for a few months, but she lost her life. Her death turned out to be very painful for Prithvi and Nisha. Their father and grandparents tried everything to console them, but it wasn't working. Nisha understood with a time that her mother was no more. There is nothing they can do about it. Now they have to live without her, and she also has to take care of her little brother. But Prithvi was still sad and depressed.

His family was doing everything to improve Prithvi's condition. They thought about sending Prithvi back to his school. But he just used to sit alone in the class. He stopped talking to his friends. It made the family more worried about Prithvi's mental condition. Then the elders decided that they should take Prithvi to their hometown Mohali, Punjab. They believe that with the change of place and atmosphere, Prithvi will forget about his mother, and then the grandmother comes to Mohali with both of her grandchildren.

Prithvi was now living in Mohali with his Grandmother and his elder sister, and it had been two months since they came here. Prithvi still lives at home with his Grandmother, does not talk to anyone, and does not play. A few days passed, and then one day, Prithvi woke up in the middle of the night and started crying. Nisha was sleeping in the same room, and she also woke up. Nisha tried to silence the crying Prithvi, but it didn't work. Grandmother also heard his voice and got up and ran to his room.

The Grandmother came and tried to find out from Nisha what was wrong with him? But Nisha had no idea. Then Grandma came near Prithvi, and she hugged him. She tried to find out from him, but he didn't answer. Grandma thought that maybe he had a nightmare. Then Grandma and Nisha made Prithvi feel better and helped him to sleep.

The next day, it was Sunday, so the two siblings slept for a long time, and Grandma also did not wake them up. On the same afternoon, a Priest came to their house. He was just like a member of their family. Pandit Ji had gone to Ludhiana for some time. When he returned, he found out that Kishan Singh Ji's family had returned to live in their ancestral home. He came to express his grief about Prithvi's mother. Prithvi's grandfather's name was Kishan Singh, and he was a very respected person there. When Pandit Ji came home, Prithvi and Nisha were in their garden. On meeting Grandma, He expressed his grief over the death of Prithvi's mother, and Grandma told how Prithvi's mother suddenly fell ill, and the doctors were also not able to help her.

The two siblings were walking in the garden, and he told his sister that he had seen his mother at night. Nisha didn't much think about it, and she replied that she had just come to see her darling son. Nisha says that mom would not like it if he cried and stayed depressed. Nisha diverts his attention. By the time they reached home, Pandit Ji was gone. But before going, Pandit Ji felt uneasy in the house, and as he was leaving, he placed his rudraksha garland under the couch.

Grandmother was unaware of this, and in the meantime, Prithvi returned home with his sister, Grandma asked both of them to wash their hands and face, and then she went to the kitchen to prepare their favorite food for them. Nisha also goes to the kitchen to help Grandma, and there she tells Grandma about the dream of Prithvi Grandma also avoids this with a laugh, and then both of them serve the food on the plate, and they eat food. And just like that, time passes, and night falls. The same thing happened again in the middle of the night.
