BadMon
Over 200,000 years humans were known to evolve within this world, surrounded by a universe, a galaxy with infinite possibilities of outcomes. The very essence of our existence has been wasted upon domination of one another, until the coming of our destruction. My name is Emily, and our world needs to be saved, from ruins, destruction, cautious around the world, concentration camps surrounded by barbed wires, prisoners of all races, children, and elderly all tortured for slaughter. Survivors had to search for food, shelter, and weapons to protect themselves, souls were lost in the years of earth’s pending demise, “Badmon” a group of freedom fighters rose from the ashes of the war to freed prisoners and fought back against the forces humans couldn’t comprehend once they made it. I’m Sergeant of weaponry & attacks under the command of Badmon general Solomon Cleaver, I would die for that man, he never hesitated to do what he needed to do because he loved us so much. People who heard of Solomon thought he was for hate, a radical, and a madman when he told the people of the world, they must fight back against the forces they created by going & playing God. Solomon was right, and for that he urges us to fight back against those who follow the practices of colonization & destruction of our human race, in order to breed a new species that has no morals, no fear. “Omen” were species cloned by the very humans who wanted to seek immortality by copying their own genetic code, and for this you shall reap what you sow. We were on the brink of extinction, until we found a way to bring everything back, I just hope those will understand how much time I have left.
CTRL-ALT
The first time Davina Vidal faded was a cool September night. There were fireflies blinking across the lawn. Crickets serenaded the neighborhood backyards. She remembered how she always used to think the equinox was so cool. Just the word itself made it somehow sound otherworldly. Ironic. Her friend Skye was following this new punk band called CTRL-ALT and she convinced Davina to come over after softball practice for their album release. Punk was definitely not Davina's scene. She was an old soul who grew up on her dad's Motown LPs.

It hadn’t rained in seventeen years and the earth grew hotter every day. There was no respite from the dust and the wind except for inside abandoned homes and office buildings—a dilapidated theme park of a past reality. In place of ocean tides on sandy beaches, waves of death and destruction crashed upon the remaining living souls daily. Some wondered if there was any point in continuing to survive, for living was a luxury of the past. Others, however, sought salvation.

Calliope crashed to the ground.... A blinding light flashes, and then... Darkness. She awoke with no recollection of who she was, nor the events leading to her abrupt crash into the remains of what once stood a Glorious City.

Prologue- LOST HEART I see you in the light, but the darkness is near. I can hear you calling to me, saying do not fear. You tell me to just take your hand and to not let go. I can see myself sinking, sinking further into the abyss of the unknown. Deeper and deeper I travel until all consciousness disappears. I dread the moment that I will be forgotten, but I know now not all who wander may be lost. So I will lose my fear, have faith and hold onto hope. Someday I will be discovered once more.
Fight or flight
The alarm beats in perfect time with the thud of my heart. I have less than a minute. Obediently, I stand and press myself against the far wall. The gentle shuffling noises in the cage to my left tell me Wren is doing the same, as does Ray’s footsteps to my right. Jack mirrors our position.
Stolen Heart
"The Future is Male Again..." The hijacked Aerojet's cameras picked up the tag on the side of the building. The pilot responsible for hotwiring the wayward aircraft chuckled at the irony of the reverse message. Katina Bryson had lived to see the day when women were treated as superior to men (and only slightly beneath machines); but at what cost to civil relations...?

See, after the Merge, almost everyone found their Parallel within a few days. That was 5 years ago today and I still haven’t found mine. What’s the Merge? Well, you know how most people go through life feeling like a part of them is missing? That they don’t really fit in, or have dreamt about having powers? Turns out, it’s true. They discovered an alternate dimension years ago. A dimension filled with the monsters, and creatures that we had only read about in stories. Apparently, it was like the proverbial heaven, grass is greener kind of thing. Ever since humans destroyed the earth decades ago they have been trying to figure out how to get to this alternate dimension, we called it Earth 2.0, clever right? What we didn’t know was that the closer we got to actually killing the planet, the closer we got to the Merge. Earth and Earth 2.0 merged…that’s right, they merged. Some God, somewhere had mercy on us and basically gave us a new planet BUT with that new planet came everything in it. Everything on Earth 2.0 was a direct parallel of everything on Earth. The plants, animals, people, landscape, everything except manmade creations. So, when it happened, every living person merged with their parallel and became a better version of themselves. The best we can figure is that a person and their parallel shared a soul.
The Color of Her Heart
Roop’s eyelids fluttered gently as she woke up to the rays of the morning sun. The sunlight made its way through the rips and tears of the old shawl she pinned over the glass square in the wall. The glass square is locked in place and does not allow any outdoor noise or fresh air to come into the small square room. It is meant to let in light only to wake up the room occupant. It is not supposed to be covered. It should not be covered.

Have you ever woken up feeling disoriented, looked around and not recognized your own bedroom? Maybe after a big night out. Maybe after doing something you regret but know you’ll laugh about later. Maybe next to someone you’ll never see again… This time I’m not in my bedroom. A ringing in my ears persists loudly and shakes me into sobriety. Where the fuck am I? I try to stand up only to stumble onto the floor. The mattress I was sleeping on looks grey and worn, with dark stains on the far end. The only light in the room hangs from from a wire by the door, glowing a warm yellow. I use the wall as support to drag myself up from the floor and immediately feel a heaviness in my head as I try to piece together the events from the night before. I look down at my hands to see one of the tips of my fingers covered in a plaster. I vaguely remember knocking into someone last night and breaking my nail. I start to notice my finger pulsating and unravel the plaster to reveal the entire nail from my middle finger is gone, a bloody nail bed in its place. I gasp for air but instead feel my throat closing up. Tears fill my eyes as memories rush back and I crumble back down to the floor.

Tubes to the Mountains
The morning sun breaks over the horizon in the distance, beaming its light across the vast flatlands. Giant grasshoppers flutter between tall stalks of wheat, munching and drinking up the morning dew that has collected overnight. That was the one benefit of working the wheat fields, mass amounts of moisture to gather in the morning. It made you feel like your thirst could actually be quenched since the water distribution to each household was abysmal. These brief, beautiful moments in the sunrise helped to make Danae feel like life was worth living. The deep purple clouds appeared flat with homogenous color against the vibrant sky of orange, pink, and blue behind it. Danae breathed in deep the dawn air.
