Their support fueled Alexand's determination and pushed him to keep going, even when his body was telling him to stop. But just as Alex neared the end of his marathon, disaster struck. A sudden injury left him writhing in pain on the pavement, and his dreams of crossing the finish line slipped away. In that moment of despair, Alex thought of Terry Fox and the countless others who faced their own trials. Gathering the last of his strength, Aleks fell down and began to stagger forward.
