The Unbound Infinite
In the beginning, the universe poured itself out in a boundless soliloquy – limitless and unknowable, but wonderfully magnificent. The chords of creation cried out in self-actualization as existence began to be. Even here at the end, when the orchestra of infinity morphed into the dirge of decaying, it was undeniably just as beautiful as it was when it began. The thought almost made him smile. Almost.

The Green Light
Since the extraterrestrials arrived nothing was the same. Things weren’t better or worse merely… Different! The oddest change was a bright green light that seemed to appear daily in the wee hours of the morning. With all the other changes that was the least of anyone’s concerns.

Babylonian Bedlam
An object loomed in the dark. It was a massive structure and at first resembled a large Victorian style house. It was mostly surrounded by tall fences and garbage. A lot of garbage. There were fires burning but no faces to behold. Numerous were cars spread out amongst the other debris and some were in better condition than others. Some of those were on fire too.

Green Forego
Deacon was just so lost. In an unforgiving and maddening blur of people rushing everywhere, always for someone else, for something else, for somewhere else. Everyone seemed to be in such agreement about reaching the societally defined milestones that mapped out a perfect future. Nobody ever seemed to wonder who had defined these rules in the first place, or why. Or if they even agreed with them personally at all. Of course, he knew his feelings of disappointment likely came from his own clear inadequacy and constant failure. He had never managed to reach any of the milestones you were supposed to reach. By the time he should have graduated from college and started a career like all of his friends he was just settling down from travelling and just starting to think about what the rest of his life might look like. He just could never decide what he wanted longer than one moment to the next. While it was fun to be carefree and spontaneous, half a bottle of vodka into his twenty-eighth birthday he was realizing that now it had just become exhausting. He wanted to know what everyone else seemed to know, to know for sure where he was going and have the security that came with following the road well traveled. As he slowly faded into sleep he was aware of two things: he was ready to focus and find out what he was really made of, and of a faint green light blinking in the distance of his peripheral vision on his right side.

Spiralling
00:39 shifts on the A-11 sitting on my wrist, glaring at me in the night's beam; the corner of my right eye spots a few moments of bombings transforming the air with a voluminous stream. Further down west is the side of the other team. As I continue to walk Northwest, plotting my own scheme, clocking the hours for the sake of my scouring means, I double check the barrel of my M1 Garand rifle and its shells, in case anything goes sour, preparing for anything extreme. There is a star so strong above, it looks as if it's staring at me, beyond the smoky screen. Or is it apparent that the propaganda that the assistance of carrots made this young man mighty to peer, to tear through the shades of darkness amidst this war's toll. What a tragedy measured up for a strategic ergonomic and especially economic goal. Though I bear and pray for repair. We are a world of many nations that have to be specifically right here, because of that my dear we cannot cheer; the mental confusions tied to this alternate universal force of violence implies fear.

The Tree
Plop...plop The sound of drops hitting the water wakes me up. My head is laying on its side, the awkward position makes my neck ache. It smells like rain and dirt, brings back memories of playing in the rain with my brothers and sisters. A knot forms in my throat when I think of them, but I don’t know why. As I open my eyes I see roots of a grandiose tree covering the ground almost completely, the small spaces of ground left filled with water. I can still hear the sound of drops near me. I look up, investigating where the drops might come from but they don't seem to originate from the sky or the tree. Then I feel warmth trickling from my forehead to my mouth. It tastes like iron.
