Ice Dragons
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Except for the cries of the Ice Dragons. They can be heard from hundreds of miles away, their shrieks to low rumbles, always reminding us of their presence. I learned from an old Earth biologist that the whales of the small blue planet had the same ability. Anyone who comes into contact with the Ice Dragons never lives to tell the tale. Of course that meant I had to find them. To uncover their secrets as to how they managed to survive in such an inhospitable environment.

The Planet’s Symbol
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Rust colored canyons, mountains, hills, and valleys mostly overshadowed the tan, gray, and green mineral deposits on the planet. Captain Deslyn Curris looked out over the plain. In her vision, she could decipher the various rock formations and the city still in progress. As a private venture, the ship oversaw the might of the American mind applied to the exploration of Mars.

Torn
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. That sentence of hers replaying in my mind constantly as I hold the pistol to her head. Her sweet voice was so inquisitive as she said those words whilst looking out the ship’s window into the stars. Unlike now, as she sobs for mercy whilst the cold hard steel of the barrel presses against her forehead. She looks at me with eyes of question and betrayal, as tears roll down her cheeks that drip onto the hard command deck floor she kneels upon. Her messy curly brunette hair, that I’d love to fix and hold on to once again, drapes over her white jumpsuit. Gosh, I wish I could go back to that moment, where I had my arms around her as we looked out the window at the sea of galaxies. But that is now in the past, and this decision will determine everything. My concentration breaks from the deep buzz of the bulky security droid that stands at the doorway of the command deck, accompanied by several others, with their automatic rifles aimed at me.

Lucky rescue......
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. “Emergency. Emergency. Emergency.” A female voice warns over the ship’s communication. Steam is filling the cabin, red emergency flashing lights, and the creaking of the ship's frame, metal stresses under the sudden stopping from the thrusters reversing course bringing the ship to an unconventional unplanned halt, this ship’s metal moaning from the unexpected conditions.

Aura
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. As a matter of fact, you can’t hear any of us screaming, crying, or begging. We have been pushed aside and forgotten about wrinkling and rotting. So how is it that we ended up in such a bad state? Did we do something wrong? Were we prisoners of some sort? Terrorists? No, nothing like that. We were just born into the wrong families. We were born into poor families.

Annika
Annika Abandoned MikeC No-one can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I have just woken and it is dark. I mean dark dark as in no light. Something is wrong. I climb out of my sleeping bag. I should be able to see my computer screen’s standby light but I can’t see a thing. I fumble for the door to my sleeping compartment and slide it open. Everything is dark and its cold. It shouldn’t be cold.

The old world
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say but if it were possible, it would be coming straight out of my soul. Screaming at the top of my lungs, screaming so loud that my throat would bleed but luckily no one can hear me. In fact, you don't hear anything, and it is the utter silence that really gets to you.

Expedition to Elaysia
“Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say,” the AI instructor droned. Genesee rolled her eyes. Yeah, yeah yeah. And if a tree fell in a forest and no one was there to hear it, would it make a sound? Why did they need to learn Philosophy? What was 0217 planning? Maybe the robotics specialists who created the AIs gave them too much personality. She was sure 0217 had a sadistic streak.
