Lab Rat
Monday | The Lab I hear the snap. Then the click. Next comes an absence of all senses. I am swallowed whole, engulfed in blinding whiteness. My gut punches me. I want to laugh, but no words come out. A high-pitched tick pulses its anger. The anger echoes in my ear drum. The beat is seething, pulsing, hungry. It does not stop.

The Guardians. Top Story - April 2024.
“Where are they?” “They swore to protect us!” “Who even saw them last?” Wind carried the chatter from tree to tree as the Great Everlasting Council gathered to discuss the latest round of forest fires. Even some of the local wildlife had dropped in to listen to the grand pines converse.

My USA Shopping Adventure
Everything I saw at Dollar Tree was priced at one dollar. Cups, water bottles, toothbrushes, and toothpaste all cost $1. Surprisingly, an economy-size large bottle of shampoo, moisturizer, detergent, and a pack of pencils, erasers, staplers, paint colors, and tissue paper are all the same. I bought a lot of items for a few dollars. This was my first trip to the United States in 2014.

Return of the Chosen
An army of yellow lights held atop torches approached the woods at the edge of the valley of Landor. Whispers passed in the wind as forest trees woke from the slumber that had carried them through decades of peace. Redwoods and Oaks spoke in the ancient language of the Druids, warning of the threat approaching in the distance from beyond the blankets of grass that stretched across the Flat Plains to the Dark Lands. Drum beats thundered through the air in songs of war. Legions of Ogres, followed by legions of Orcs, covered the earth for miles. In a quarter day's march, the first of their lines would arrive at the forest's edge.

First Time in Tokyo
Stepping onto the bustling streets of Tokyo, I was instantly swept up in the city's vibrant energy. Neon lights danced overhead as I navigated through the maze of skyscrapers and bustling crowds. My first stop was the iconic Shibuya Crossing, where I found myself lost amidst a sea of people, crossing the intersection in perfect synchrony. With my senses heightened, I moved into Tokyo's culinary scene. From savory ramen bowls in tiny noodle shops to mouthwatering sushi at the famous Tsukiji Fish Market, each bite was a revelation of flavor and tradition. Eager for adventure, I ventured into the vibrant district of Harajuku, where I marveled at the eccentric fashion statements and quirky boutiques lining Takeshita Street. Lost in the maze of colorful storefronts, I stumbled upon a hidden café serving matcha-flavored treats, a delightful surprise in the heart of the bustling city. As the sun dipped below the skyline, I made my way to the historic district of Asakusa. Here, I wandered through the centuries-old Senso-ji Temple, where the scent of incense mingled with the soft hum of prayers. With a sense of reverence, I tossed a coin into the temple's offering box, silently making a wish for my journey ahead. But Tokyo wasn't all ancient traditions and bustling streets. Seeking a taste of the city's futuristic side, I ventured to Odaiba, where I marveled at the towering Gundam statue and explored the interactive exhibits at the Miraikan Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. With each new experience, Tokyo revealed itself as a city of endless wonders and surprises. And as I bid farewell to its dazzling lights and bustling streets, I knew that my first visit to Tokyo would be just the beginning of a lifelong love affair with this extraordinary city.
