A War of Skulls and Horses
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. From the balcony of the royal keep, Thaudal Fairrehule watched the Loch drain through rivers and canals. As a boy, Thaudal was fascinated by the intricate system of locks that could turn Avergion into an impenetrable island at a moment's notice. The moment Gavrul’s army appeared, the garrison unleashed the flood waters onto the lowlands surrounding Avergion. Thaudal shuddered at its implications. Would she haunt him too? Would she be nothing more than a ghost of his boyhood joy?

In this chapter we are introduced to Helena - a stark contrast to our protagonist, Haven. Chapter Two - Helena ———— Helena arrived at the restaurant and quickly fluffed her hair in the car mirror. Berganashio - Chapter 19
The meerbirds heard Larkin and followed him to the best of their ability. The sea-wolf ship continued to splinter and flail around like a pierced octopus. A New Beginning
“The river ran backwards on the day the queen vanished. The trees lost their luster and even the crops have stunted, like nature left with her,” the wizened woman, sitting with other aged men and women in a wide semi-circle, gestured with her gnarled cane. She wasn’t alone in these observations, as murmurs of agreement echoed through the small gathering of people.

The Truth Hidden in the Silence of Centuries
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. Her unexpected disappearance foretold changes of ominous import, as foretold by antiquated prophecies. On this day of Nefri's unceremonious departure, the revered river that had for so long bestowed prosperity upon the land instead retreated against its will, as if obeying some divine edict.

I Found Love in a Witch
Chapter One: The Bookstore Encounter Eliott Griffin had never been one for the mystical or strange. Raised in a world of spreadsheets, data, and logic, he had spent his adult life immersed in the rational world of architecture. Magic, if it existed, was something for books, movies, and those who didn’t want to face reality.

Back to the Source. Top Story - November 2024.
‘The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. Water returning to its source flooded fields and forests, villages and towns of the realm. Then the faraway ocean tumbled into the empty estuary. Its waves reached the lands ravaged by the river’s passage, and eradicated what life remained. When merciless sunrays dried the flood, only patches of salt shone among inhospitable sands. Survivors were conquered by drought and hunger, and cruelty took reign in the kingdom.’

Soaring Among the Stars
In the velvet night, where dreams take flight, I mount my steed of silver light. The sky above is a canvas of deep blues and purples, painted with glimmers of starlight that beckon me closer. With each breath, I feel the cosmos call, an invitation to journey beyond the ordinary and explore the extraordinary realms of the universe.
