Into The Deep
What did I get myself into this time? I’m on a boat rocking back and forth in the middle of the ocean all alone. I don’t have food, I don’t have water, all I have is the white light of the moon and the brightness of the stars shining down on me. I guess all things considered seeing the stars gleam and glow and the great round moon watching over me, isn’t a bad way to go. I just wish I could find some comfort on this wooden dinghy. The only thing I can rely on to sooth me is the water knocking up against the hull of the boat, but that’s only because it’s the least of my worries. I’m more worried about those thick clouds in the great distance, I’m not sure how well this boat would hold if it had to go up against swells bigger than me. But I guess that’s a concern for another day. I took a deep breath of the cool crisp air of the ocean breeze and let out nothing but anxiety and fear. I looked out into the water, clinched my left hand, placed it under my chin and just gazed upon the beautiful ocean water knowing full well that it will be my final resting place. I noticed my reflection in the water and all I see is despair. I sat there still and quiet contemplating how I got here, and then suddenly, I see a bright blue light gliding through the deep. It was twirling and spinning, what a peculiar fish I said to myself, at least someone was home. I was wondering what it could be, but I haven’t got a clue, all I know is it looked happy. Well, I guess I should try and get some sleep, those clouds look like I am going to need what little energy I can get.

StarMaker
CHAPTER 1 The End is the Beginning When the last light shone into this world we knew we were goners. Every horrible dark thought surged through every cell of me as the sun darkened for the last time. A teeny tiny tear gathered at the corner of my eye, holding itself back in a last hope of …. something, anything to take away the clawing despair.

Stranger Stranger
This strange tale began two years ago in my small-town Texas bar. In sauntered a man on a slow Thursday night who looked like he belonged in a circus. He had many unusual piercings and tattoos, yet he wore a shirt with the words, “peace, harmony, and love” intersecting.

Octavia and the Winter Beast: Part I
From the window in the hallway of the second landing, Octavia Garlet looked past her reflection at the snow. It drifted down in gentle, fat clumps from a velveteen sky, kissing the faces of the late arrivals as they stepped from their coaches. It was a sight that had once sent Tavy's heart fluttering with anticipation when she was a child. Now that it was her own Ordainment Ball, she was rather nervous. She would be expected to make an impression upon future employers. A good impression. She could no longer only seek her dances with the handsomest court boys, who would wriggle with discomfort when she loudly threatened to set a curse upon them if they didn’t take her hand. Tavy smiled sadly to herself at that thought. She’d gotten a good smack from Darcianne for that.

The Golden Balderdash of a Stubborn Taurus Moon
The medallion on the chain was that of a golden Bull, a symbol for Taurus and the energetic enthusiasm for life, that he brought to her heart. There were others charms, a Ram for Aries and Mars, a Lion for courage and beauty, and a Bear representing their shared strength together. He would switch them out from time to time, but tonight it was the Bull around his neck. It was the pendant she had bought him for his birthday a few months before. She sat staring at the pendant at the dinner table across from her. It was fitting for their celebration of a successful business venture. The moon was full on this beautiful night, and it was to be an announcement party for their engagement. However, She found herself very nervous. Although, she could not reason why she should feel uneasy at such a joyous moment, perhaps it was everything that came before, or maybe it was the company that was with her at that moment earlier in her hotel room.

Hemorrhage
The doctor confesses to me that he is unable to stop the bleeding. Every time Doctor Henry Payne exhales, his pungently warm coffee breath throttles my nose like an uppercut. On the wall behind the doctor, his ironic name is printed on a diploma from UC Davis in a frame that needs to be dusted. I wipe a bloody tear from my eye.

In the Dark
She jolted awake. The feeling of a nightmare clinging to her skin, her mind feeling heavy. The air was stale, like a long unused room. Planting her hands against the cold floor, she pushed herself up, sitting hunched over her knees as she looked around. Her throat was dry and her breaths came quick and sharp as her eyes strained against the dark, but there was no light. There was nothing. When she reached out a tentative hand, there was nothing but the smooth surface beneath her.

72-Hour Extension
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” – Some idiot who just screwed up. Professor Scrate, Sir, I am requesting another extension for the assignment due tomorrow, Feb 24th in Agricultural History 431. I know you told me that you wouldn’t grant me anymore extensions once football season was over, it isn’t because of sports this time though. I think I’ll need a 72-hour extension due to an error with my Personal Time Skip Device that I loaned out from the library. I also am asking for help, I have hurt my hand and it is making it difficult to type. Could you please contact my academic advisor, Mrs. Devrie, and tell her that I may not make the departure time for my colonization internship so that I can finish my research project? Thank you. If you do not hear from me in 96 hours, please send help. I am in the year 1673 B.C. in Crete.
