Athena's Wood
The night is quiet and still, just as I have asked it to be. A cool breeze wafts through the clearing, rustling leaves and filling the air with the comforting sound of a forest at rest. I sit patiently amongst the branches, enjoying the silence as I wait for my beloved. I have taken the form of a barn owl this evening. I believe it will amuse her. I hear the hitch of her breath before I see her; she has been crying recently, tonight has not been easy.

Chapter 24: Determined
Morning came and went. Sarah woke to the noon sun's rays. She rolled over in her bed and her muscles stung and her arms rebelled against use. Still she rose and painfully reached for her quiver and she scuffled to the kitchen and seated herself in her favorite chair. No one seemed to be around and no movement could be detected.

A Tuesday in Time - 2
Usually, when we bring a Timebound into the City we bring them in through the Flower Quarter, because the overwhelmingly pleasant atmosphere tends to wow and awe people, making them slightly more malleable and less prone to having hysterics. Mind you, taking a walk through the FQ on a regular Saturday after brunch, you are probably going to see at least one or two people in tears of confusion, or hurling questions at a harassed looking Warden, or just babbling incoherently. But most of the newcomers merely look shocked and dazed and maybe even a little delighted.

Lilac Scented Dreams (7)
I haven’t talked to Noah for about a week now, he’s been avoiding me ever since I brought up the name Drussela. I don’t understand why he ran off like that. I think that maybe it is an ex’s name or something. I want to ask him but whenever he sees me he goes in the opposite direction. I've been alone without him, no one to really talk to and vent to. I can talk to Savannah but she’s always been judgy and mostly wants to talk about herself. Sitting on the couch pondering what I could have done wrong. I grab for a book to try to stop my mind from racing. Suddenly I get cold and get shivers. It's 95 degrees out, the sun shining and not a cloud in the sky, why am I cold.

Barter
As Mara descended the stairs into darkness, she felt nothing. She had felt nothing for a long time. The night Lord Erebus had attacked her village, killing her parents and kidnapping her sister, Wina, she had sworn an oath to herself. She would not rest until she held her sister in her arms again.

The Brink of Eternity
THE BRINK OF ETERNITY The girl let the phone drop on the table and kept staring at it until the screen went out. It was the fourth time in the past few weeks that she saw her plans overturned because of Damian, who had to cover for a co-worker. What bothered her most, however, was the fact that he could not, or rather did not want to say “no”. Once, when she upbraided him that the job was the main thing in his life, Damian smiled at her and replied, “It's true that I always have my work in mind, but it's just as true that I always have you in my heart!” But today this thing was going south really fast. Dana, her colleague, was given two invitations for a concert at a night club for which she had designed the marketing flyers. She could not go because she was going out of town that weekend to attend a cousin's wedding and she gave the invitations to her. Neither she nor Damian were big fans of alternative rock, but she hadn't been to a concert in a long time, and she wanted to change the atmosphere anyway. Anyways, she did not want to go it alone, and her options to find a companion in the next two hours were extremely limited.

DEATH
The most confusing moment of my memories is just after death, I remember very well having died. I was 23 years old, I wasn't very sociable but once you knew me, you would like my company, at least that's what I thought. Anyway, I ended my life, I cut my wrists, I could no longer bear the suffering, the rejection and contempt. Nobody appreciated me, I gave everything for everyone and nobody sought me out, they preferred the friendship of others to my friendship. Whenever they needed me, I was there and I always aimed to please and ended up being rejected when they no longer needed me, so I decided to take my life.
