Wandering Dark
I cannot believe I'm back here. I can’t do it; I won’t do it. I should leave, turn right around, and walk out the gates. Half turning, Iana looked to see if Mrs Poole was still watching her, she gave a small salute as if to say running hadn’t occurred to her. Not that Mrs Poole was fooled. She’d known Iana for too long. Looking up at the imposing fortress in front of her, Iana wondered if anything had changed. Would Vi still be here? Would they let her back into the same class as her friends? Looking at the military grey roof and the off-white walls she laughed grimly to herself. The cops were right of course. She was running from an institution, just not the one they expected.

"As the last of the Pinta Island turtles, everyone wants George to have offspring, even if it's with a female of another subspecies so that at least some of the genes of the Pinta Island turtles can be preserved. The news said that the zoologists had found other kinds of female elephant turtles for him, but George was reluctant to get close to the ones they found, and the zoologists were anxious to know what kind of female George would like." When I read the news, I suddenly had the strange idea that it wasn't that George didn't like the female turtles the zoologists had found for him, but that George didn't want to get involved with them at all, that it didn't matter to him whether he had offspring or not, that he just wanted to get out of the national park and crawl to the puddle he was in and roll around in the mud. So Gattuso, if you were George, would you choose to stay in the national park and try to breed with the female turtles, or would you chew through the national park fence and crawl back to your watering hole?"

They moved along the iron suspension ladder, and suddenly a turn was made, and Lu Mingfei's eyes were illuminated. A storm of sparks fell from the sky, like a flash of fireworks in the night sky. Huge black shadows were suspended from the top of the tunnel, and dozens of engineers were busy around them with slings suspended in the air, the sparks coming from the welding guns in their hands.

"This is not the key, the key is the high pressure of the deep sea," Chu Zhang said, "this depth wearing a diving suit is not dive, only with a deep submersible. But as far as I know, the majority of the world's manned deep submersibles can not even reach a depth of 6,000 meters, the pressure in the polar abyss is hundreds of times greater than on the ground, and can be pressed into a deep submersible into a flat tin."
