Promt: The dance came naturally, as always. She’d been a ballerina for most of her life, so her legs knew what to do before she started to move. Today, something was different. Usually. . .

She never feels the burning pain her hard working legs put up with, but today, she feels it. It’s almost too painful. She pushes through hoping it will go away. Her mind now impared by the unusualness, she stumbles. Not focusing properly. The music stops and she gets yelled at by her instructor. This production has to be perfect. She can’t mess up, she's the main character. They go again and the pain is still there. This time she falls. Again she gets reprimanded. They take a quick break. She speeds to her dressing room, searching through her bag she takes some meds. Hopefully this will help. The production is tonight and rehearsals should be perfect.

They start over. From the beginning of the ballet. She struggles little but soon enough the meds kick in and she dances the floor away. They practice once more before they are free to leave for the day. Miss Prima ballerina changes and heads out for lunch. After lunch she goes to a specialist.

A nice long message should do the trick. She has been dancing all her life and never once got a massage. Yes she works out and stretches, but never. After her spa treatment she heads home resting up for the big night. In the middle of her nap she sits straight up searing in pain. She tries more meds but nothing works. She has only an hour before pre show rehearsal. She searches online hoping to find a drug heavy enough. Her whole life depends on this show. A juilliard official will be at the production tonight. This is her one chance to get a free ride to the most pristine dance school.

She finds something.A banned drug. Though not illegal, it has had some heavy side effects on certain people. The only place that sells it is half an hour away. She quickly grabs her bags and heads out. Trying not to speed she floors it to the store. Making the trip took almost over thirty minutes. She heads in and heads to the medicine. It’s not on the shelves. She makes her way to the pharmacy. They have to keep it in the back to make sure no one overdoses. She gets as much as they will let her and pay. Heading out to her car she takes the meds. Quickly she makes her way back to the theater. Almost late she heads to her room, feeling refreshed she changes and heads out for practice.

Rehearsal runs smoothly and everyone rushes to get ready as the audience flows in.

The dancers are ready and the crew gathers round for a beautiful speech to raise their spirits and enjoy the night. The show starts swimmingly. The backdrops are beautiful. The music, triumphant. Prima ballerina starts and dances gracefully.

The first act went down and was successful. A nice quick break for the dancers and back at it. The dancers start, moving swiftly. Prima heads out right on time and begins. As she twirls her head starts to spin. She continues like nothing is wrong but now dizzy moves improperly. With her next spin she collapses.Everyone rushes to her side. The show is now at a pause. They get her off the stage and start up the second act again, but this time the understudy takes her place. They are unable to wake her now calling an ambulance.

She wakes in the hospital. Hooked up to many machines. After a moment a nurse comes in to check her vitals. She tells her that a doctor will be in momentarily. After what seems like hours a nice young doctor comes in.

“Well, I’m glad you are awake, but unfortunately we have some bad news about your leg.”
