I'm sitting on my bed mindwriting this letter to you as I still think about you all the time. I am amazed to see the words appear on the electronic paper as I think them and I am told that you will get this as soon as I put my signature on it.

I have been out of cryogenic suspension for over a week but I have been unable to put my words down.

We were eighteen when I left for this exploration project but your dad wouldn't sign the release forms to let you come with me. That still saddens me, and you will be sixty now, but I am still eighteen.

I have and an android replica of you that they gave me to keep me company, but whenever we try to make love ( is that the correct term for sex with an android) she(it?) moans another's name, sometimes it's Steve, sometimes John, sometimes William, but never my name. I feel I have been cuckolded by a robot.

It makes me so sad, I still love you.

The ship is manned by clones who continually tell me I am so lucky to be an individual, but we will soon be at our destination.

It also saddens me that by the time I return, you will either be dead or so old and fragile, and I will still be little more than twenty.

We are going to be spending a year exploring this star system, but after I send this, I will not be able to have any contact with home until I return.

This is my final letter to you.

I am so sad that we could not do this together, but that's the spirit of the age.
