Theallsf home had witnessed countless tragedies and heartbreaks, providing comfort to the broken and peace to the sorrowful. Through these walls had passed the echoing voices of prayers and hymns as loved ones farewelled their dear ones. In its silent darkness, grief and griefers found solace as they bid their final goodbyes. Within these walls were tales of joy, heartache and deep sorrows. Although seemingly dark and sinister, the atmosphere in this funeral home was somehow soothing and calming. Every wall held secrets and a secret that could never be fully unlocked. In each room, sorrow filled every crevice and made itself home. Although there were plenty of mourners and funerals taking place, there was an inexplicable silence that would linger throughout. Even after the final prayer was spoken, there would be moments of pause where only the fading murmurs of the sorrows of loss would exist. Even the air seemed heavier, pressing down on the heavy-hearted until their last goodbye. Yet within these walls were memories of goodbyes that transcended beyond life. An abundance of fond memories that people held of their loved ones would often last longer than their lifetime, allowing them to come to terms with the unavoidable passing. These walls had heard stories that spoke of unimaginable strength and courage, of endurance and faith, and of a bond that lasted beyond life. Despite all the pain, heartache, and grief, within these walls still resonates an air of hope.

A free flow of spirits lost in transition. Witness of the battle between life and death. Lost souls challenged by the devil, the cries for help. As children of God watched in fear. The walls hold secrets of transition to death and the presence of God. How the lonely died in fear and the rich died with valuables and honor.

Trying to find peace many suffered to death. As others took their own life they cried for help and suffered in death as life existed beyond. Tragedy don’t stop at death as if these walls told the truth, only walls would know.

In the quietness, these walls whispered messages of hope to those whose lives were irrevocably changed by death. If walls of the funeral home told the secrets, love, joy and peace maybe found. Heartache, pain, and fear maybe heard, but those stories only told through the walls if they told.

They have heard the laughter of a young family gathering to remember a beloved grandparent. They have seen mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers who must accept that the one they loved so deeply has passed away. But these walls have also heard stories of strength, of families and friends banding together, embracing one another as they heal and support each other in the wake of a great loss. These walls are a place of reflection, a refuge from the chaos of life, a space for quiet contemplation of the impact death has on us all. The walls of the funeral home can tell of sadness, of loss and of joy. They can tell of love, of courage and of comfort. But in the end, the walls can tell a story of life—that in the midst of death, there can still be beauty. They have heard the laughter of a young family gathering to remember a beloved grandparent.
