The next morning, they woke up, and Jodi, Mike, and John did their daily chores. The aliens walked around, scanning and collecting soil samples in the hope they can replicate the conditions at home.

Suddenly there was a crash, a huge bull came barreling through one of the fences. The aliens watched as it ran past them, two men following in a Jeep to catch it. The bull running as fast as it could; the Jeep tried to maneuver beside it, but the massive animal made a sharp right, the Jeep followed. The bull made a left, and the men in the Jeep tried to mimic his moves to get beside him. After what seemed like a while, they finally got where they wanted to be, an arm with a hook-like mechanism lowered around the bull's neck and the Jeep made a slow stop, the beast tried to break free, but couldn’t, eventually it mellowed down a bit. The aliens, followed by Mike, John, and Jodi, went to see what happened.

“Sorry, he broke free. We’ll take care of the fence and any other damages that were done.” The driver of the Jeep said

“I’m just glad no one is hurt. You need some help getting him back, Scott?” Mike answered breathlessly from running.

“If it’s ok, we’ll bring the trailer here to put him in, then we’ll fix the fence while he chills in it.” The bull again tried to break free, but with no luck

“That’s fine.”

“We can watch the bull for you guys till you get the truck over here.” Ripar said

“Sorry, these are some friends from out of town.” Jodi said introducing the three

“Nice to meet you, I’m Scott and this is Brian. Just be careful, he’s not happy, don’t get too close.” It’ll go faster with two people.

When the men left the aliens did a scan of the bull, then Vocar asked “How long will it take them to get the trailer and get back here?”

“About a half-hour or so.”

“Can you keep watch Roj, while I get a closer look at him?”

Roj opened up a pouch on a piece of clothing under what he was wearing and took out a tiny drone and tapped on the guys to have it follow them. Through the implant in his head, he could see a clear picture of the two men and what they were doing.

Vocar shifted into a bull and moved closer to the animal before him which was stunned for a few moments like It was wondering what happened. Then suddenly it started freaking out again, but it couldn’t get free from the strong hook around its neck. It mellowed out again. Vocar changed back into her human shape, Jami, Scott, and John staring in amazement.

“That's so cool!” Jodi blurted out

They all waited until Scott and Brian got back with the truck. The two men put a couple of ropes around its neck before lifting the hook. The beast again tried to get away, but with the help of John and Mike the four men were able to get the bull into the truck, the animal bucked and hit its horns on the inside of the trailer, making it bounce.

“Thank you. We’d better get back; we have a lot of work to do before the day is over.”

“You’re welcome. If you need any help, we’re here.” Mike offered

“It’s ok, my son and his friends are visiting from college, they’ll help.” Scott said

“At least let us fix our fence here, we have some extra hands.” Pointing at the aliens

“Let us know the cost and we’ll pay for it. I hope we didn’t damage your crops?” Scott said while the men got into the truck.

“Well, we’ll see.” Mike said while looking back at the tire marks the vehicle had made.

The men drove started to drive off “Let us know, we’ll cover it.”

Vocar told the humans “Don’t worry, we can fix this. Let’s fix the fence first, and tomorrow we’ll take care of your crops.”

“We’ll be back in a bit; we have to go into town and get some wood. Why don’t you stay here and take care of the work you need to do and we’ll be back in an hour or so.”

“Ok.” The three aliens said in unison

While the men were gone, Vocar finished his scans of the soil, the compost they used, and the water, as well as taking samples of each. The soil on Earth was different than on their planet, but with their technology they could clone the soil they need, and with atmospheric domes they could mimic the Earth’s air composition, heat, and sun, they also had a way to make the crops grow fast, this is what they’ll do to help their new human friends.

While Vocar was taking care of her business, Ripar and Roj took away the debris from the broken part of the fence, then went to help Jodi around the house.

When John and Mike got back, the three aliens helped repair the fence. Sure, they could have used their technology to get it done quicker, but they wanted to do it the human way. Targofians are much stronger than humans, which made them admire the tough work they do with what simple tools they have.

When they were done, they walked back to the house, had a drink and cleaned off after a rough day’s work.
