Meet Pawgles & Sofie. Sofie is a human female on Earth with an unusual and compelling life, and Pawgles appears to her as a 'felis catus', a male feline. He is unlike any cat you’ll ever encounter and, purr-portedly, unlike anything you may come across. Pawgles is essentially an ethereal being, a so-called Aenimon. If bound at all, he is not limited by time and space.

As an Aenimon, he is unfazed by anything and contemplates eternal abundance. He has deep wisdom, although he mostly does not know what he knows. All he needs to know is that the next question triggers him. Since Sofie is full of reasons for quests, this seems like a cat-alyst for his ethereal essence to manifest to her as Pawgles, an orange cat with big blue eyes, with which Pawgles is purr-fectly content. Why should he not?

"Just think about it for a moment," Pawgles purred to Sofie once upon a time. "All the sustain-ability needed for a 'felis catus' is pre-sent on this terrestrial non-luminous celestial body."

This was the first time he was cat-alyzed to apparate in Sofie’s realm, and he needed to adjust his presence. Or was it his purr-sense?

“You see, Earth is at heart a purr-adise for a Pawglessence. There are cozy cat spots purr-fectly aligned with the golden beams for a Pawglessence to purr in a purr-pendicular pawsition. There are sizzles within the golden beams generated by the luminous celestial body in the blue-w-up-sky, causing furr to sparkle and purr a static lullaby. Even more, there are purr-petual purr-spects for purr-suing furr-blls to purr-vide for nourishment. Not to mention pawrific wool-eys to play yarn with…”

The sudden manifestation of an orange cat with big blue eyes purr-chattering from thin air might not have struck Sofie as unusual. Still, she couldn't help but gaze at his apparition before bursting into an uncontrollable giggle, leaving Pawgles entirely purr-plexed in the middle of his purr-chat.

"I'm so so sowwy," Sofie chuckled, after she got herself and her wits together. "I'm not laughing at you. It's just that I do that too, naming and expressing 'thingies' in the moment, and it makes complete sense to me. It was so delightful that I just couldn't help but giggle."

"So, let’s start over. Hello, dear friend, I'm Sofie. What's your name?"

Pawgles, still purr-plexed, with his tail in the air and his eyes bright, pads over to Sofie and bunts his head gently against her leg, as if to say, "Hello too, dearest friend. You're most welcome! Awwpawlogy for my sudden pawsence."

After that moment, Pawgles was given his name and decided to use more conventional wordings for communicative purr-pose. Purr-haps leaving some syllables unaltered.

And so, the tales of Pawgles & Sofie begin...

So charming. I could imagine parents reading this to their children with a lot of giggling over the wordplay..."pawrific wool-eys to play yarn with"...! And the pictures are absolutely beautiful. My only suggestion is to give Sofie a distinctive "voice" in how she speaks to set her apart from the narrative tone a little more in vocabulary and speaking pattern... either going innocently clever/questioning like Alice in Wonderland, or more young and naïve and simpler in verbiage like Dorothy in Oz. Really wonderful and magical!💙Anneliese
