Two young adults were enjoying their time together at the park late at night. One was Xavier, the other his girlfriend Rebecca. Called Becky by those close to her.

Xavier was happy the final day of College was here. His grades reflected the hard work he put in as he kept the Valedictorian status upon the course completion. Both himself and Becky competed hard for the top slot. The rivalry was one of many he had. But the one with her was the only one he cared for.

Just something about always improving alongside the one you love boosting his magic. Even with the strange dreams he had at night, which were increasing at a higher rate.

Xavier came from a pretty terrible clan. Political intrigue and bad decisions of a few elders caused the downfall as well as the re-rise of the clan back to prominence. Didn't help his mother the Matriarch of the family vanished 8 years ago.

Right around the time, the family was getting out of the thick of it. Most questions asked about the situation showed no real promise. Which lead to increase training and studying for Xavier to lessen the burden.

"You better not be thinking about work right now?" Becky pushed down in the grass mounting him. Her purple eyes shining under the moonlight. Her Devilium Blood features showing greatly despite not going through the Graduation Ceremony. "Care to have some fun further than normal?"

"Yes, but we won't. Just one more day and everything will be all ours to pursue." Xavier grabbed her wrists before she got started.

A small pulse of magic flowed out on contact. He could tell her training was slacking off for control. But he didn't say anything about it. Her mood was not the best lately.

Family troubles she didn't want to talk about when asked. "I have something I want to show you." Becky was disappointed but her eyes shined seeing the "Magic Screen" conjured up. It showed the interior of a house.

"No way.." She looked through the different displays flicking her finger. Happiness growing each second from the images that she saw. Defintely furniture that would make them both happy. "If I didn't know any better, I would think you were going to propose."

"Hmm, not just yet. Need to live together to see if we can tolerate each other more first. Dating and courting is one thing but this is another. More modern solution that makes sense" Xavier grinned at her. His armband started going off. "Not work, so I will leave it be."

The Armband was for his work as a Justicar. Something that Rebecca respected but wished he wouldn't have started training so soon on. Coupled with work and school, the courses for it took up a lot of time.

"Stupid Angelium customs." Becky frowned a little. Her Devilium blood throbbing just a bit in response to what she wanted right in front of her but getting denied. It always created a sweet pain that grew stronger everytime Xavier denied her lately. "Go ahead and answer it. I will look a this more."

As she inspected the place over, his fingers expanded the screen window a little more. Reading it was not really pleasant. Xavier was happy that he was not a Peacekeeper dealing with the mess going on.

A few Undesirables were spotted entering the city. Hunting someone on their trial. Which was generally frowned upon in most circles. The details were scarier than usual. Only stating a female was persued.

As the two conversed a little more, it was late enough to cause a problem for the morning. Parting, they both headed home quickly.

Elsewhere, another was running for her life when the young couple spent time together. Escaping from those prejudice against her kind still after all these years. Old rivalries still ran hard. Ducking into a warehouse at first, she was grateful for the smell to cover her as she changed back.

"Ha..ha.. why me!?" The young woman cursed under her breath. Seeing the moon shining a little, she did what she always did, prayed when the times were to hard. "Goddess, I am so tired. I don't want to fight.. anymore."

A small breeze brushed against her. A paw print nudging against her body healing the wounds there. Giving strength to the young Champion during her final trial. Restored, she still did not look like she wanted to keep going anymore.

"All you desire is here in this city." A voice whispered to her softly. "Rest here Elisheba, and gather your mind. Your mate must experience the final pain before you can meet. You will need him, as much as he needs you."

The voice faded away, almost weakend in a way. The same as her champion use to be.The transformation tried to take hold of the young woman but was stopped the magic and her force of will. If she did not finish her trial by tommorrow, it would be to late to ever go back.

"Ugh!" Elisheba worked her fingers to cast a spell. One thing else to do before she fainted. Shielded by old magic, the pursuers' spells all vanished without pinpointing a lead. 'Just a little nap right quick. I wonder if I will dream of him again?'

Magic coating her body once she was asleep. Shifting her from the place in the Warehouse to that of a smaller building to work with her concealment spell.

Elisheba dreamt of the one she sought but felt his features had changed some. He was slightly taller and his presence was growing. The magic that flowed through his veins were more.. Primal and raw. A Green Light shining in his eyes.

‘Hard work does pay off!’ Elisheba said dreamily to herself. Usually she could see the other from a distance in her dream. Put the increased detail came with more of a revelation. Her mate was in pain somehow. A dark coiling of magic was around his heart and mind. ‘No!’

She moved in her dream grabbing the coiling from within him. Her hands glowing with an unusual magic of its own. With each pull and grab, she felt stronger and her soul grew stronger. Fleeting memories started to rise as the face of the person filled out.

Elisheba didn’t see as she was preoccupied with removing the coils furiously. A pair of hands wrapped around her before the figure faded away. Not all the coils were removed to her dismay.

“Thank you.” The figure’s voice came out gently. It was the first time she heard him speak.

Only a few hours of rest, unfortunately. Elisheba heard talking outside before waking up fully. Ignoring her wild matted hair from sweat and blood, breathing slowed to a standstill. Her heartbeat slowed despite the spell still protecting her.

Xavier walked near the warehouse district not finding anything. If it was not for the extra hours given to his Worksheet, he defintely would have went home to get some rest.

"Nothing over here." The words turned into a communication spell shooting off. The response back came quickly. He was to head to the second rendevous point to converse with the others. "Hmm, simple night overall I guess."

Enjoying the stroll despite the circumstances, Xavier made a pretty decent time. But his whisper spell alerted to something odd outside of the Warehouse District. Not to far from the meeting point.

-Injured nearby.. must act quickly-

-Scared & Confused spells at play-

-Brace for hysteria and lash out-

Checking policy for his current duties, Xavier made sure he didn’t break any laws or rules. It would be the worst luck possible to get expelled the day before graduation.

Technically the day of graduation considering the time.
