Only Happy When I'm Miserable
I hate it when things go smoothly and right. I hate sunny days, I hate happy faces, I just want something bad to happen to them.
I love seeing people thinking they are going to get something then it all falls apart. I love it when the neighbours put their washing out, go off to work and it starts raining.
I would never do anything hurtful and will always help when it's needed but I do take delight in things like people missing the bus. If I were a bus driver I would probably shut the doors on them just as they got to the door.
I think Morrissey based a lot of his songs on me, and it always rains in Manchester. I smirk when I see them when their umbrella falls apart and they are getting soaked even though it is the middle of June.
The Smiths and The Fall are my favourite two bands still, and they don't have and happy songs in their repertoire.
They are a perfect soundtrack for dark and grimy streets where it's always raining and the roofs always leak.
This is British Summer Time, it's always raining and people come into the office and home, soaked and miserable, just like me. Though I am happy when I see their small misfortune, it does raise a smile in me.
Maybe that's why I have no friends, I laugh when they have some misfortune.
So I just sit in the pub nursing my half a pint of whatever is the cheapest beer all night watching others spill their drinks and argue over small change.
When I finally go home, I find that the roof has leaked and my bed is soaked, so I'll have to sleep on the settee again.
Heaven knows I'm miserable now.
