looking through the glass of life

Scarlet was down she had just lost her family to a great fire. She was alone with no one to understand her or guide her on the journey of life. One day she wandered deep into the woods of an enchanted forest and found a man a young man looking through a glass. She wondered why he looked through the glass and what was he hoping to see.

She scurried down to a rock that was feet away from the young man. He did not hear her foot steps and he did not see her coming closer to him. Till he her a twig snap and in a flash he turned around to find Scarlet scared in her tracks. What is a little lost girl like you doing in my woods? He asked. She was silent, she was still, she feared everything and everyone. She was used to being alone with no one to understand her.

He stared at her with intrigue and wondered what a child like herself was doing alone in the woods. She turned and she ranaway into the woods to find a shelter to sleep for the night. Scarlet was scared and very alone and she did not like the dark of night. She feared the unknown and she was uncertain if the young man she came upon would come for her.

Months and years went by and Scarlet got older till one day. The young man came with the looking glass and he watched from afar. He watched her for days, he watched her for weeks. Finally one day Scarlet felt brave enough to talk to this man who watches her and ask him his name. She walked up to him with her guard high and ready to run in any second. As she approached him he handed her his glass. He said to her please take a look at the world through the glass and tell me what you see.

She looked at the glass and rolled it in her hands and said its smooth. As she placed the glass to her eye, she looked and she saw that things looked far away. She missed her parents but through the glass she felt farther away from the people as ever before and for once she felt normal. She asked the young man his name. He told Scarlet his name was George but he did not know his last name. He asked her what her name was, she answered with Scarlet Woods. George chuckled and laughed he said that is silly.

She told George she was young when the fire took her whole family away from her and left her alone. He said same with me I lost my mother and my sister in the fire. Scarlet said thats sad, losing those you love. He agreed with her, they became good friends and even though they were lost in the woods. They still used there looking glass to view the world that seemed so far away from there grasp.

Though the 2 of them knew that the world around them was moving forward with life. But George and Scarlet let the fear within them rule how and what they did with there lives.

So you ask why was the looking glass so important to them. Because they were on the inside of the looking glass, looking outside to the world around them growing and moving forward from tradgety. By letting fear rule there lives they closed themselves off from the real world around them. When we close ourselves within ourselves we shut off the world around us and we blind ourselves to ourselves.

The glass was there way of feeling close to the real world that was going on without them. This is what happens when we let fear takeover our minds, our hearts, and our souls. We blind ourselves to the reality around us and live in a fearful world where your imprisoned within yourself. We have to look at what is best being in fear and imprisoning ourselves within. We have to learn to conquer ourselves and not fear ourselves cause otherwise we be stuck inside the glass itself. The end.
